Pokemon X and Y - 3DS - Oct 2013

How do you plan to use the HM slave? Keep it in the bank and bring it out when needed? Or have it in your team full time.

If you have it in the bank, going for bidoof would be a good bet. If in your party full time, I wouldn't bother having slaves at all. I just had the common three - surf strength and fly - on pokemon who could use them to decent effect in battle. Everytime I need waterfall or cut I just find a crappy poke from the bank

Agree when I need waterfall I just pull w gyarados out of the box and to take it from there.the great thing in x and y is that once strength has been used on a boulder the boulder is permanently moved so you don't need to re use strength in the same place twice.

oh yea I have rock smash on my lapras too and lightning so it can surf, smash, strength and it's ability of water absorb is ideal when surfing and encountering water pokemon with thunderbolt as it's anti water attack.

I just had HMs on Pokemon that were in my bank and took them out when I needed them.

Except Surf which I had on Vaporeon. Only Eeveeloutions allowed in my party! :p

I also use absol as a false swiper and vileplume for status/sweet scent.

Edit judgeino I sent you an email via trust a bit ago but if you want t
To trade pokemon just let me know.

Wow my new Scraggy destroyed a whole team online when I played! Great new addition to my team. I just need to evolve my Bagon to its final stage which I think is at level 50

Awesome! If you get scrafty in there against a weakened opponent so he can finish them off or if you know scrafty can take a hit off that pokemon and survive, run dragon dance as your first then hit them with a drain punch. The dragon dance raises both your attack and speed by 50%. Awesome. If scrafty also KO an opponent with his Moxie ability he gets a 50% attack bonus as well!

So in theory if you run a dragon dance and ko someone your attack just hit a lofty height of 100% increase in damage.

This also has the bonus you now get extra hp back in your drain punch. anything that resists drain punch likely wont resist ice punch and fire punch which also get boosted and have a chance of burning or freezing the foe too!

Yeah I used scrafty with Dragon Dance to begin and kept using Drain Punch mostly and it was perfect at the amount of damage it does and the amount of HP he recovered each time. This guy used a whole set of Legendary's and I just wiped them out one by one Lol.

I am still working on Evolving feebas as he's around level 39 now with leftovers,Shelgon is at 43 and Squirtle is at level 1 still as I have not worked on him yet.

What items should my scrafty, Shelgon and Squirtle be holding?

You'll find that people who use all legendaries are often terrible. I had a double battle with a similar guy a few days ago, and it took me 4 turns to realise that all his pokes were lvl 100, and mine were between 50 and 80. I did lose, but it was quite a close match considering. I then challenged him again with a lvl 50 cap, and beat him 6-0 with just CharizardY...

What items depends on how you want to use them. Life orb is a good bet for Scrafty and Salamence, and I'm presuming you will be using Blastoise as your mega, so get him holding his megastone.
A choice scarf/scope/band, is usually a good shout for Salamence depending on how you have it set up. But that depends on if you are playing 6v6 or 3v3, choice items on 3v3 are a bit risky

Thats nice because Scrafty is not a legendary tier pokemon he's more like under used than legend or OU.

To evolve feebas you need to trade him whilst holding a prism scale item. You can trade back to me with the item and I'll trade back.

scrafty - odd one really. You could add a item that increases Fighting damage, or an item like kings rock that makes an opponent likely to flinch ( ideal if you hit first) or a left overs if not used elsewhere on your team.

For Salamence the choice again is yours, lile a dragon fang or something could be useful.

For Squirtle you'd have to use Blastonite because it's modest and it's move set is designed for it.

judge ino his salamence is a dd mixmenxe so a scarf would be a waste. I'd save a scarf for someone like a Starmie with bolt beam coverage or porygon z.

I've been having fun in 2v2 with a lead of charY and chlorophyll hp fire bulbasaur followed by extreme speed dragonite and hp electric modest mitotic.

With Life Orb I usually reserve this for nidoking or queen with Sheer Force as you get the 30% boost from it plus ypu don't take any recoil from it. When you add the sheer force factor ime use a move like flame blast that also has a chance to burn, you forsake the burn but are getting a 60% increase in damage per hit. Same with earth power or icebeam. Hence I run modest or timid nidos with HA Sheer force rather than jolly or adamant because the special move set usually has higher base damage and a secondary impact to work with life orb.

compare earthquake vs earth power.

Ok great,

I dont think I have any of those items so I need to go on the hunt

Could I swap my Feebas then? I think its around level 44 now and ill have to look for prism scale

**I've just noticed the prism scale is in Couriway Town and I cant get there yet as I havent progressed enough in the story, The Evil Flare team have just summoned that huge crystal thing in the town and i am just battling Yveltal and I just caught him so easily, with half heath with 1 Ultra Ball... I remember taking hours catching the old legendary's....

Pokebank is out!!!@!

Juat bred a hp electric perfect shiny feebas last night and shiny perfect hp fire chlorophyll bulbasaur. ..its 5th gen shiny time!

ZOMG
Well I know what I'm doing when I get home. I think I brought my old pokemon games with me when I moved house...

I've still only found the 1 shiny this gen, and it was a geodue in a horde, which was prompty killed by the other geodudes  With the amount of breeding I've been doing, I should be due one soon though.

Me too im counting down to half 5 so I can finish work and go hone!!

I was lucky/ unlucky this gen for shinies. I hit 2 in one week. The issue was they were with bad iv parents because I was only at 4th gym or so. So my shiny gyarados has no max iv but is a good nature, jolly.

My shiny tyranitar has adamant nature and max iv in attack and def. Plus stealth rock and dragon dance...

in gen 5 bw I can rng any shiny pokemon as long as I have a decent mother in about 10 mins. Maybe 20.

Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Transporter are diabolically tedious. This is the process you have to go through to move Pokemon to X/Y.

1. Open Pokemon Transporter app with Gen V game in and transfer one box of Pokemon.
2. Close Transporter, insert Pokemon X/Y and open Bank app.
3. Transfer Pokemon transferred from Gen V to either Pokemon X/Y box or Bank box.
4. Re-insert Gen V game and move the next 30 Pokemon you want to transfer to Box 1 in the Gen V game.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as needed.

So yes, you can only transfer Pokemon from Box 1 in the Gen V games meaning you must move Pokemon to Box 1 after every transfer. Not only this but you HAVE to to move Pokemon from the Transfer box to either a box in X/Y or one of the 100 Pokemon Bank boxes before you can transfer more Pokemon.

I'm not sure if I've conveyed just how tedious it is here, but believe me, you'll know when you try it. For a subscription based service I'd expect to be able to transfer every Pokemon from my Gen V game to the Bank in a single go, not have to go through the above process 10+ times.

Ive already moved my shiny army to box 1 and 2 in preparation . Do you remember Pal Park? Ugghhh now that was tedious at 6 pokemon a time and then you had to catch them ...

edit how do I find transporter app? I have bank but can't see transporter anywhere! !
