All London underground ticket offices to close by 2015

"Union leaders have offered to suspend the strikes if plans for ticket office closures are put on hold"

So the company is not playing ball.

Got to Waterloo station just before 7am hoping the tube would open up. The station concourse was packed, and at 7:20am we were told they weren't opening any time soon. Decided to take a scenic walk from Waterloo to Mayfair, which took about 30 minutes. Will be doing the same tomorrow (and next week :().

Dry your eyes mate. A 30 minute walk doesn't sound too bad to me. Our office is that distance away from the nearest railway station. I bet your walk was more scenic than mine too :)

Yet another shameful way to make a point by a few. Why can’t they simply raise the barriers and let the public move freely, hitting the coffers of TfL without wrecking the wider London economy and causing misery to millions.

What did he do? I haven't seen this, so pardon my ignorance.

It was on the BBC London it showed both boris and the union guy calling each other and both being filmed.

And when the union mentioned a phone call from boris, boris tried to deny it and tried hiding while on camera :D

I don't get it? Deny what? Phoning the union? Why's that a big deal?

Eternal employment is not a right, let alone eternal employment in the same job role.

Tend to agree. A job role or position is simply not for life any more, those days are gone. In the modern world it is entirely right the workplace evolves whether via technologies / demand or dare I say efficiencies.
