Show us your kitty cats

Sorry :o I should have added the smiley in my first post.

Really bonny cats, my dad has a couple. His are really timid and wont come anywhere near me when I visit.

This is our little man, Conan. He's an 8 month old silver shaded chinchilla persian. Had him from 12 weeks old. He's got a cheeky little personality, but his favourite pastime is chilling on our living room rug!

Since i first got Zoey almost 3 years ago she has always been a house cat, mostly because i live in an apartment and partly because shes as lazy as i am.

In the summer im moving into a new place, terraced house with a nice sized front and rear garden so im considering letting her go outside.

However im a bit paranoid about her getting lost in new surroundings, or worse being stupid enough to get hurt etc.

Shes generally a timid sort of cat, any time i have visitors for example shes very shy for 10 or 15 mins and normally goes and hides somewhere until she builds up the courage to show her face :)

Whats the opinions on the transition from being a house cat to a cat who likes to go exploring? Im not worried if she doesn't want to go outside, im just thinking when i move to the new place it would be nice to see how she reacts to the potential of some new sights, sounds and scents.

I would say the best thing to do (once you have been in your new house for a few weeks) is to open the back door and sit by it and just see if she will come and have a look.

Use some treats to get her actually out of the house (I am imagining that you have a back door step, so you could pop a few dreamies or something on there). Just don't leave her alone. I can't imagine that she will bolt or go very far for a while tbh :)

Also, make sure she has all the necessary injections and that she is/has been chipped with your new address details. Can never be too careful :)

My mum's cat is being taken today at 2.30pm to be put to sleep at the age of 20 :(. She's been fine generally, although recently had some arthiritis.

Over the weekend it suddenly went quite bad. She's been walking with her paws folded under her. I was intending to visit at the weekend as it seems she isn't going to last much longer. Today she can't really move. Been taken to the vets and they said it would be best to put her to sleep.

It's sad really. I have been expecting it over the last year due to her age. I was hoping to have one last visit. I last saw her early summer 2013. She's lasted a long time. I had started primary school around the time we had her. I remember coming home and seeing her on the first day!

Gut wrenching when a childhood pet finally goes :(

Look on the bright side, she was the equivalent of a 100 year old human, so she had MORE than a "good innings" in lifespan terms.

Not that what I'm saying will help you feel any better, but she had an amazing life for a cat. My 20 year old cat was hit by a car and killed and I'd had her from when I was 4 years old.

This is my cat Bert, I always look at this thread but never posted before, she is 11 years old now :(

I'd love to know why cats love the Catit roller circuit when it is in a round shape like that. I have seen a couple of cats on here love to sit in the round shape and my foster cats also loved sitting in it more than playing with it!!

Just got some pictures through from the breeder of my 2 MC boys so thought I would post one up here for you guys. Shadow is on the left and Kahn is on the right and they are 2 months old now.
