Titanfall Screenshot Comparison: Xbox One Alpha Vs PC

Terrible comparisons. Different locations, different lighting and different sources. XBO looks like its from a stream the PC from direct capture.

I think the basic problem with a 6 vs 6 limit, is games will become predictable and boring. With say 32 or 64 players, and 2 tanks , a chopper, some jeeps, etc. You aren't likely to always be doing the same thing, and likewise the teams you face, sometimes good people get in the vehicles, sometimes bad. You can work in squads and try different tactics. With 6 vs 6 it's too, predictable, it won't be long before there is only a few different ways to play it develops and it becomes dull in this kind of game.

No different to other FPS's, CS:S almost any map can be brilliant with say 8+ players a team and rubbish with 5-6 players. Too few players and basically every uses the "best" path, the best tactic. When I would be in say office, where I went was based on what everyone else was doing. 6 players go one way, I'll go another.

6 vs 6 sounds like a recipe for a very short lived game that people will get bored of very quickly. I think it's the kind of game that to me looks kind of gimmicky, and without playing it I don't want to pay for it.

Bit of a shame they are putting it on a fairly old looking engine also, I'd have hoped the consoles(and consequently PC's) would have had a few more games pushing the boundaries already and that you'd see games like this being pushed by MS or in other cases Sony as a major title would have got the new engine treatment.

Another reason why the Xbox One graphics look a lot rougher at mis that the footage is all from the semi public Alpha in which Respawn probably cut down a lot of the textures to keep the download smaller. Where as the PC footage has been from preview events.

Glad to see the PC has high res textures though :D Still not the most technically impressive game when it comes to visuals though!

6 v 6 does look a bit meh! but I will be giving it a go. Beta release soon? So nothing to lose on that, as it is stated you don't need to buy the game to play the Beta.

Call of Duty play's very well and thats 6v6 :d I dont think the player count is the issue the maps is what keep the flow.

I dont see the issue with 6v6 tbh

Respawn stated that the textures in the alpha were only 25% of the texture resolution in the finished product. The download was only ~4gb.

Still strong rumours that the One version will be 720p though, and who wants to play a fast paced FPS on a controller? :)

Judging by sales of every console COD to date; just a few...

Yeah, I remember black ops 2 only doing 9 vs 9, but worked ok. In fact I probably enjoyed it more than BF4.
It's not all about the number of players, BF4 only has 32 vs 32. After playing in a few 48+ vs 48+ battles in Planetside 2 and watching as a friend took part in a drop of over 100 soldiers on a single enemy base, 32 vs 32 doesn't seem all that either.

i hope this works on AMD cards OK as it's OpenGL, it's out in a month or so right? so probably too soon to incorporate any AMD extensions when/if they turn up... as above BF4 is good, but i'm getting a little sick of the bugs and waiting for Mantle (obv DX11.1 is OK but when you have amazing dangled in front of you...)

Was a big fan of COD4 so i have high hopes for this

I put hundreds of hours into Black Ops on my clans crouch servers and Graphics were poo but the game play was awesome.

Source engine 2 looks very promising and the screenies shown in another thread of L4D look stunning in comparison. HL3...Yes please :D

You sure? because from the Min requirements its Windows only wouldn't it run on Linux also if it was OpenGL?

No bud. HL2, L4D, Rage to name but a few are OpenGL :)

Ignore that, I misread it.

It is Origin only (at present) but I can see it working on Linux when it isn't Origin only.
