My current rig is getting rather long in the tooth:

Abit IP35 Pro
Q6600 2.4GHz (with Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 cooler)
8GB (4x2) Kingston Hyper X DDR2
Hitachi 500GB SATA HDD

Possibly the good bits:

Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675W PSU
Zoltac GTX470 AMP Edition.

I've got a 128Gb Crucial M500 I could pop in, so really thinking of board, CPU & memory, around £300-400ish?

Thanks in advance

You have a nice budget there so the combinations are endless & if you want colour co-ordination between the motherboard/memory.

Your current psu will be fine. You could also reuse your current hard drive and optical drive ? so you could remove them from this spec if needed.

The Gigabyte motherboard comes with a free cooler.

If you feel you don't want/need an i7 and 290 you could always drop down to an i5 and 280x to save some money.

Depends what's more important, looks or performance. If it's performance over looks you can bin all the 'bling', go for a cheaper case and fit in a 290 non reference(msi gaming edition)

"I only play a bit of Warcraft, but would probably play a little BF4 etc if the rig was up to it."

The aesthetics are probably worth it in this case.

Nice build, Thanks Reaper B)

Fowler, out of interest what would you suggest?

Prob something along the lines of what lee suggested, mixture of aesthetics and function(colour cooridnated without the 'bling'). You could save money by going 4670k and putting the saved money in the bling if you wanted it.

Tho I have no idea how good the 'free' aio water cooler is that comes with the motherboard lee suggested.

As with Idleman, re-use the PSU, SSD and HDD and get this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-R929OC-4GD) £379.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £249.95
1 x Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £119.99
1 x NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case - White £94.99
1 x Silverstone Tundra Series TD02 Liquid CPU Cooler £94.99
1 x Avexir Venom Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C9 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21330904G-2CIG) - Green Light £79.99
Total : £1,034.00 (includes shipping : £11.75).

4770K, 290, nice green ram/mobo combo and a sweet cooler that should keep the i7 cool with a big OC :)
