My Girlfriend bought some squid ink pasta on the internet because it looked very pretty. So I thought, what can I do with this? and used this recipe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/seafoodpasta_86886

It turned out well, but now I have about live 800g of mussels sitting in the fridge, as Tesco didn't seem to have any smaller quantities to purchase (prawns are in the freezer, so are not a problem)

I'm very new to cooking seafood, with my only previous forays being grilling salmon and making some fishcakes.

What on earth do I do with all these mussels?

p.s. The GF is Chinese, so recipes with an Asian slant will be appreciated even more.

cook em and eat em?
Black bean sauce is nice with them
White wine Sauce
Garlic butter
Plain with salt and pepper
maybe like a drier chilli salt and pepper (liek CSP squid/chicken) might work

just saw the recipe, thats like no musswls at all rather than too many LMAO
60g of mussels    WTF, that was what like 3 each? Majority of that being shell :p

Thats only one serving, we used about 200g of each seafood. I said we had too many left!

I'm completely new to cooking seafood, when you say cook 'em and eat 'em, do you just mean in a pan? Don't you have to boil? I can't stress my lack of knowledge enough.

nah dont boil em, kinda half steam them cook up whatever base or saucy type stuff yr using in the pan, add all the mussells, stick a lid on it, cook for like 5 mins, jiggling em around every coupla mins, majority if not all of them should be open.

Bosh into a bowl Enjoy :)

If however after this theres a few that are still closed then bin the closed ones.

Dead easy and tasty, just a bit fiddly with the shells, we just have a spare bowl out and chuck the shells in there as we go.
normally lazy and go with the prepacked ones in garlic sauce and serve with tagliatelle :)

Steam them open with a little white wine, squeeze on lemon juice, salt and a bit of parsley.

Then eat them in front of the tv like a beer snack, I do it all the time.

Title makes no sense. There's no such thing as to many.
Just cook in a sauce and eat. God I could demolish kilos and kilos no trouble.
Just search mussels and find a recipe you like the look off.
Cream and chorizo is a good one.

Next time, I should use more spices:

Onion, spring onion, beansprouts, chilli, garlic, ginger.
Fry
Add mussels, soy sauce, white wine
Cook till it looks done
Serve with rice

Thanks for the ideas! T'was better than last nights meal
