I need to upgrade my graphics card, and I've planned on upgrading to a 290. However I've been thinking of doing a complete overhaul. Problem is I've got around £400, so any complete overhaul would require selling old parts to put towards anything else.
I've currently got a i7 950 @ 3.8 (can do 4), x58-ud3r, 6 gig of 1600 corsair, vapor-x 5870, a 650w tx corsair and a samsung evo ssd.
What do you guys think would be the best bet out of these two scenarios?
Buy a 290 and wait till next gen to upgrade everything else.
Or
Buy a i7 haswell, motherboard, ram and sell current mobo/CPU/ram/graphics card and buy the cheapest 280x (I think I can get around £200-£250 for current parts).
I'm leaning towards the full overhaul, but it is a major hassle selling all the old parts I guess.
Opinions?
Thanks.
