Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 12th February 2014]

Pathetic, 5-0, just pathetic Arsenal.

No changes at half time... sure, right. Leave Ozil on... the one chance he gets he backs out just incase the keeper hits him.

GIroud runs away from corners/set pieces watching what happens, rather than get involved physically with the ball in play, he both shoves a liverpool player for no reason, then gets a yellow card for dissent. Get a yellow for a foul on Suarez or something ffs, put your boot in, make LIverpool work.

Dreadful, Giroud has zero goal threat in the way Drogba/Henry does. You can't knock the ball in behind if it's say 30 yards from goal and he'll run in and score, you can't pass him up the field and leave him 1-1 with a defender and see him score, no threat at all. Unless you get it to him in the 6yard box for a tap in he won't score. Likewise if you ask him to move more than 3 metres with the ball he'll lose it. When having a bad game you need to rely on the ability to launch a ball down the field and have SOME threat on goal, but there is none, so so easy to contain.

Another same freekick, same problem, same Arsenal "stopping" in defence leaving a big gap for no reason. How is it Arsenal can't watch the players and mark them in those cases.

Same problem we've had for years. Inept tactics when it really matters and a stubborn refusal to change anything. Plus the fact the team has no balls. We can turn it on against lesser teams and when there's no pressure. But as soon as it's a game that counts, with any amount of pressure to win they crumble and fall apart like a bunch of whiney babies. There's no steel in this team and there's no pressure from anyone in the club to push for results and that's why they'll never win anything.

TBH, it's all well and good scoring 4 goals against Everton and 5 against Arsenal but when we can't beat the likes of West Brom and Villa we won't be able to build a gap and catch the leaders. Still need a big improvement in our consistency but the signs have been very good at times this season.

You are beating the leaders...at least until chelski or city play :p

grrr, AOC back after 5 months first game played the whole thing, was limping around at the end so, we play him for another full game soon after. Asking for trouble but Wenger usually does, he's also been crap so. Probably should have gone AOC for Gibbs, put Monreal down the left wing or even into central mid for a bit of tackling/bite/pace helping close down in there.

Well the title was never Liverpool's goal this year. Before the season started i think every Liverpool fan would have been happy to be where u are now in the league while beating Arsenal 5-0.

Rodgers looks like he can adapt and change his tactics from game to game. It's only his 2nd year in charge if he gets proper backing he might be able to build a top team in the coming years.
