Hi Everyone.

I've currently got some '500mbit' home plugs with gigabit ethernet ports and pass through power. Solwise I think was the make, and the software that came with them suggests I get about 100-140mbit between the two adapters.

I got them just over a year ago, and now they are starting to play up.

I'm after replacing them, but I want to get the absolute best ones I can. I've had a look at what is out at the moment, and 500mbit + gbit ethernet ports seems to be the fastest advertised 'perfect condition' speeds, but I'm wondering if there are any others I should consider/ones that cope better in more challenging environments.

I'm happy to pay what I need to, and whilst I'd like pass through power, if in any way shape or form these cause a performance reduction, I'll remove that from requirements.

Answers on a postcard :)

Interesting.

A bit of Google Fu has identified two Gigabit ethernet, gigabit power line adapters (TP Links TL-PA8010 & TrendNET's TPL-420E2K).

Can't seem to see them available anywhere yet - only just announced apparently, but I'll be holding out for these.

Then just look at the charts on that site, read a review and purchase, job done.

Very best you'll see is approx 100 Mbps

I'm interested to see if the new chipsets give any sort of increase on that.

Even if I only get 20% of the advertised speed (as that site suggests is the absolute best) I'd be looking at double the highest on there with the new plugs
