Phelan in the interim with Ancelotti in the summer?
Phelan would certainly have enough knowledge of the players to get the best out of them, but maybe he'd be rubbish without SAF doing the motivating.
I can't see us getting Ancelotti but there are plenty of decent, winning managers out there who would quite possibly thrive with £150m to spend. I suppose there's every chance Ancelotti could be sacked, knowing what Madrid are like.
Expectations are pretty much rock bottom at the moment too. Seeing us attempt a few passes through the middle would have me all light-headed.
