It is like you say not a bad/burnt taste, just that I can taste the cotton. I get it with silica too, though that is worse for me. Horrible stuff.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have tons of silica and Ekowool, but like you I just can't stand the taste, it's the only reason I have moved onto cotton.

Have you tried boiling your cotton? I think I might give it a try, can't find anywhere local that sells distilled water though.
 
No I hadn't, plus I only tried one kind and I do not think it was organic. As I said I think I may have been using too much too, as that is mentioned to make a difference too.
To be fair I did I only tried a couple of builds.
I had got rid of my mechs and rebuildables on a clear out a couple of years ago, when I first got my Orion. Then a year ago I got a vamo and a igo to mess with and check I was not missing anything with VV. Two builds in I sold them on.
I have now succumbed to my first FT order and have a new mech and RDA coming, my excuse was as back up.
Anyway I had forgot about the slight taste sensation cotton gave me, so will endeavour to get past that this time; we'll see.

I've tried a different cotton today, non organic 100%. It still gave the same taste, maybe a little bit worse than the organic.

Now i've just built it up using 2mm silica, 1.3ohm. I still seem to have the same strange aftertaste, maybe it's just me?!? I will keep vaping it for an hour or so, then maybe go back and try the Ekowool.
 
For anyone wishing to try GVC it goes on sale at 8am tomorrow morning, tempted to order 30ml to try.

Also tried my first micro-coil with cotton and flavour is brilliant but I am finding that the coil seems to wick a lot and almost constantly pop?

Hey W!ll, thanks for the heads up! I've been keeping my eye on the GVC site for the last week. I think I'll order a 10ml bottle. I've read some people say it's overrated but don't know if that's true. I ordered a bottle of Battenburg cake juice on friday from wavesofvapour, supposed to be amazing. :)


How did you do your micro-coil? I've bought some cotton pleats and will have kanthal this week, so was thinking of getting a threaded screw/bolt like the M3 bolt in a video RedMogg linked, to make the coiling more precise.

Also, how do I completely turn off the Sigelei without removing the batteries? 5 clicks for on and off apparently, but 5 clicks just takes me to option 3.
 
To make the coil I used a 2mm diameter cut off spoke and wound the 0.3mm wire around it 10 times keeping the coils close and pulling them tight as I went. After I had wound it I took it off the spoke held it between a pair of pliers compressed the coil tightly and heated it up to red hot, did this a couple of times and then popped it back onto the spoke to install in the KFL.

For the wick I just stripped away a very slim bit of cotton rolled a point at an end and then the rest of it uniformly and threaded it through the coil cutting away the excess.

It vapes well, plumes of smoke but seems to wick extremely well with the juice constantly popping which on the nano'd KFL seems to mean i get drops of it on my tongue after chain vaping.

To turn the Sigelei off you press the button three times let it select the 1.output on/off setting and change it to off, then when you press the button it won't fire until you change that setting back.
 
What I mean W!ll is, how to have it completely powered off where no menus are active. When I first put the battery in and it says 'Sigelei', I then press the button 5 times which puts it to 'system on' and the menus become active. Apparently it's *Press 5 times continuously to turn on/off the mod* but I'm only getting 5 clicks to turn it on.

Yeah, I guess all the Sigelei's work the same, at least, I know the V3 has an identical menu system as mine. Looks like the battery has to be removed to turn it off completely. Bit silly tbh. I'm used to doing 5 clicks for off on my evod which I do as a habit to conserve battery life.

@Majnu - I call her The Clone as she's just like my 2 year old Elliott was - just slightly daintier. He's adjusting well to having to share the centre of our universe and is keen to tell everyone he meets about his sister.
 
Just a quick reminder to all those after GVC ordered some now before it sells out and all that jazz, just got my 30ml ordered.
 
Not a clue, but it's so hyped up and raved about that I feel I should try it due to loving vanilla custard juices.
 
I got a nasty sensation from custard, I know they all say they have no diacetyl now; though diketones could prove to be harmful too.
 
Well i figured i would update on my Kayfun (nofun for now hehe) I tried something totally different, i went with a micro coil made from .25 kanthal, 2mm drill bit 6 wraps, came out to 1.4ohm - same amount of cotton i normally do, and boom its working to a certain degree, flavour is still not there completely, smells lovely in the room though.

Im totally lost as to what or how i got it working, could be the smaller length of the coil, as the .32 at 10 wraps to get 1.4 is quite long, or could be the coil height, this one is just barely off the airhole, probably half a mm. Mind boggling and annoying as hell.

What cotton are you using, and how much?
Show us the top deck so we can critique your setup :)

Wilkos baby organic cotton wool balls, and maybe just a little bit bigger than my finger nail, just rolled gently and pulled through, and cut just above the deck on the kayfun..

As for the picture this is the same one i posted a few weeks ago, but its practically the same as im doing now.

I tried ordering 10ml this morning just after 8am and I got "We're sorry. The product 10ml (50PG / 50VG/18mg (steeped)) is out of stock. Please consider trying this product with a different PG/VG Ratio/Strength." Which means, I could only have bought 30ml. There's a thread on UK Vaoers about today's ordering and many were saying it's good but overrated and that there are as good and better custards now since GVC first came out.

I've just ordered Monkey Jizz instead. It won't be pre-steeped unfortunately, but banana and custard? Yes please. It won't get much better for me than that!
All my alchemist cupboard juices taste like ****, won't be buying from them again.
 
Is it just me who think that Grant is a bad business man?
If i had a product with so much demand, i would make sure that i made extra as its bad business to turn down trade when you are out of stock?
But that is just my opinion

Congrats Redmogg, she lokk slovely and i hope her and mum are doing fine.
