Replacement suggestions for the Boxster S

Really like the Boxster.
A friend lent me one for a weekend, thought it was a great car.

I would have one in a heartbeat if I was in the market for a two seater.

i hated the OPC warranty but don't see how the BMW one would be different, still won't be able to mod the car. Required to take it to BMW for everything etc....

Whilst warranties can be restrictive, it is unfortunately more necessary on a 335 than most cars.

Injectors often go at over £200 a piece (which now need a bank of three injectors changed instead of just one as the new injectors aren't compatible with the old ones)

Water pump is common which is around £600 to replace

Fuel pump is around £500 to replace. Again very common.

Nox sensors can be a pain too which are £500 Inc fitting

Vanos solenoids will need replacing at some point at around £200 for both intake and exhaust ones

These are just the common problems.

Then there is the uncommon problems, the wear and tear and as they get older the turbos at£1300 each plus fitting.

Why not wait until you are 25 and get the Mustang?

I can insure an 05 4.7 GT for £436, and I already know you have a better postcode than myself.

I really like the SL500 but they are all automatics I think :(

Who is that with?

That's another option, sell my car and buy a £1k runaround for a few months until I can insure a Mustang or decide what I want.

Flux Direct through moneysupermarket.com

I didn't even try that hard, I'm sure I could get it cheaper too.

That's not a correct quote then, I've just done the same. It's listing incorrect models. There was no 4.7l engine in 2005, it was a 4.6 and it lists auto coupe's only (manual and covertable available).

When you click the only car available it says;

The Car:
FORD (USA) MUSTANG 1964-2014 Petrol 4.7L Auto 2 doors GT AUTO Not the right car?
Based on this, we think the car:
Is right hand drive
Has 5 seats
Has no tracker device fitted
Has no security device
Is not imported

Which is obviously wrong.

Just for arguments sake I clicked changed these details, and selected a LHD USA import and ran my details (only 2 companies quoted me);

£12,532.96
1 x £1,598.08
11 x £994.08

£12,532.96
1 x £1,598.08
11 x £994.08

110 insurance providers didn’t produce any quotes

I know, I noticed this, and changed it to LHD and an import. Still £436 :D

You're just making excuses now.

Just sounds like poor shopping. No way is that the best.

Why sell yours and get a runabout, why not keep yours?

Are you being.forced to sell it or something?

Obviously quotes can be gotten cheaper when shopping about, but as previously explained the last quote I got was around £8k and I was told my age was the issue.

Not being forced to sell, I wouldn't want to hold onto my car until say next winter and then take a hit of values.

This spring it'll have a years OPC warranty left and values will go up to the summer coming.

See above, I did the same as you and got 2 quotes - the cheapest being £12k.

And back to my original point. Wait until you are 25 and get the Mustang!

I'm 25 and can insure one for £436, don't see why you can't when you are also 25. You've bragged how cheap the Porsche has been to insure, so I'm also sure you can get cheaper than £436 too...
