IPAD Air

Its the same as the iPad Mini 2nd Gen in terms of spec, although has a bigger screen. Depends what you want.

Can't really advise anywhere to buy other than the Apple Store for obvious reasons.

Surely it's obvious that the Air is the best model to get, if you want the latest iPad with the biggest display...:S

Best place...a well known department store with the initials JL offer a three year warranty as standard, and is without a doubt the place I'd buy from.

There's plenty of complaining though on mac forums (and elsewhere) with ipad air safari bugs, low memory usage diagnostics, specific website crashes, etc. Especially on 7.04 .

Is ipad 4 more stable with 1gig ram on "32 bit" than the ipad air on same amount (but faster) ram running 64 bit. I wonder. ?...

Can't deny that there are some stability issues but I would imagine they will be resolved in the imminent release of 7.1
Read a lot of positive things from the beta

Memory leaks on iOS 7.0.x. As tribz said, apparently 7.1 betas have been far more stable. Anyhow, I wouldn't be buying anything other than an iPad Air now (and in fact am struggling about whether to buy one myself!).

Running 7.1 beta 5 on my iPad mini retina and no crashes in safari at all so far. Loving the speed increase and new keyboard.

The 64bit version of Safari is ****ed basically, Apple should really adopt Android updates to 1st party apps, it is already fixed in the betas of 7.1. Also from the anandtech review things take up to 30% more ram in 64bit mode so Apple should have really paired it with 2gb of ram it seems.
