Electric Shaver

Philishave are hard to beat if you get a decent model. The Braun models use a foil head which can be hell on some skin types. Just my 2 cents.

I've been using a Braun Series 3 and find it much better than some of my old Philips models. No irritation, shaves close and fast and when you're done you can just take the foil off and run the head under the tap. Mine came with some lubricating oil and a tiny brush which makes cleaning it pretty quick and simple. Lasts quite a few shaves after a charge too, but then I shave every day so there's little more than stubble for it to cut.

Ive been wet shaving since I first had a bristle and was wondering if an electric would be better for me as I get a lot of skin irritation when shaving so only shave once a week. But as im changing job soon and will need to be clean shaven every day I was going to get an electric.

Any advice?

Me too i been wet shaving since day one. Ive always fancied electric but id want a quality shave. How on earth can i try it without forking out a Ton£ just to see if it works for me :/

Old thread revival.

Looking for a shaver that will shave almost as close as a wet shave. Dont want to spend only to find the one i bought i carp! Ta

Tried them all. the best of the best is the Panasonic ES RF31 (and above) wet/dry.

I bought one (similar model) from the US and it worked fantastically for ~ 4 years. +1 to that.

Got a different make next and it only lasted 3 months tops. Going to get another Panasonic wet soon.

I used electric philips shaver which costed me 65 pounds, but it was terriable. The effect using razor + shaving gel gave a better effect, and less hustle...

I bought a £60 Philishave, one of those triple-headed ones back in early 2001. I remember seeing a list of razors and the most expensive back then was £120, so I went for middle-of-the-road. Cleaned it every week with the included brushes and it's still going strong :D Obviously the inbuilt battery has a shorter capacity now though. I don't recall having any other device that's lasted as long as this apart from my old Beeb computer and perhaps a couple of radios.

That's my testimonial for longevity anyway. Can't really quote for 'best' / closest shave, so best to check out the other responses.
