My cycling training thus far this year have bit the dust rather due to the weather other than a bit on the turbo trainer on time trial bike and exercise bike!

Just had an op on my toe last night to remove ingrown toe nail. My god does it hurt!! Not too bad today - more a dull ache.

I've had them removed, twice. It is more of a dull ache with some sharp pains every now and again but they heal very quickly. I'd guess you would be good to bike in 1-2 weeks.

I think it hurt more because of the infection I had from it - took the docs 2 months to diagnose that's what it was after I went back 3x because it was still killing me! Back to work tomorrow hopefully.....

Hoping work won't screw me over as it was their steel toe capped safety shoes which caused the haematoma apparently.

Bell Javelin turned up today, thanks for the heads up Thomas.Please. Means I don't have to wear the second hand old one I got when I got my TT bike, now to start planning what events I can enter.

Totally stripped my Boardman now apart from the BB and the headset cups. Unfortunately one of the bottle cage threads is coming out with the bolt and one of the barrell adjusters has snapped in the frame Darn. Not sure how I'm going to fix those I was hoping to never need to take the frame to anyone else during this re-build, apart from having it powder coated.

For a 4 year old frame, the paint is bubbling and flaking all over! Think if I had left it any longer it would be terminal.

The rebuild is gonna cost a little fortune, sadly now on hold as my cars in for a service and MOT or forgot about. Bring on pay day!

Put the lights on the bike for the first time this year. It's still summer, but the suns not up until past 6:30am now :(

Ordered a SRAM Garmin outfront mount and a new Red Chain.

Wiggle are doing High5 cheap at the minute, I got 4 tubes of Zero for $5 ea, then a "race" pack which is loads of gels and drink powders and a bottle for $10.

This local guy is hoovering up all the KOMs during the morning bunch rides at the minute, but I imagine my training will be better in the long run, I'd imagine ill build more long term stamina and develop a better "diesel" style engine?

I did 50km this morning with an average power of 226w, weighted average power 246w, no PBs but pulling 329w and 325w average up two CAT4 climbs so fairly consistent and I'll ride non stop.

He did 60km with an average of 151w, weighted average 201w but picked up a couple of new KOMs along the way by hammering it when they got to them and stopping at the top to wait for the group.
