So i'm in quite a fortunate position to have been offered a 09 tts with 40k with adaptive suspension for 15k from my boss,. However, i'm very keen on the cayman s (987) which would probably cost nearer 18k for such a milage 06 example.

I know the cayman will eat the tts in terms of handling, interaction & fun and will probably cost a fair bit more to run also, along with the dreaded but rarer ims issue.. But the TTS is supposed to be one of the best tt's produced and handles well ish for a haldex car and goes well.. I was thinking considering most of the tts' of this era are going for 16/5-17 i could run the tts for sometime, if it bores me change and get more for it than i paid and get the cayman..

Some other viewpoints would be most gratefully received.

I'd have to opt for the Cayman otherwise I'd always regret it (assuming I could afford to run it).

How about offering your boss £14k and if he says no then go for the Cayman.

Sounds like a good price for the TTS. The Porsche will probably cost a bit more to run and cost more to fix if something goes wrong. Don't know if that will make a difference to you, but it's something I picked up on when looking at them.

The TT-S is good. But it won't be anywhere near Porsche Cayman good.

But £15k does sound like quite a good price for that - so maybe worth a punt and then sell it if you don't like it?

I just got a quote for insurance, 260 for the cayman s (2006,value 18k) and the tts was 366 for a 2009, value 18k.. Tires on the porsche are about 240 each, tires on tts 200 ish. Cayman does 20-28mpg, tts around 28-33. The Cayman also has the 2 year service intervals and the 2 year OPC warranty !!! Heart its with porsche all day long but the lack of depreciation with the tts appeals massively, an accountant would go with the tts.. Plus the tts' is a bit effeminate... I think i have my answer but, decisions decisions.

Go for the TTS.
Run it for a bit, upgrade to the Cayman if you don't get on with it.
Sell for a profit.

It's got to be the TTS for the money tbh. As said, if you don't get on with it, sell it.
