Again, there is nothing stopping a gay man having children, they just cannot do it directly with their gay lover.

By the same token, perfectly fertile heterosexuals choose not to have children. And then you have the infertile heterosexuals as well.

I know a gay guy who, during years of trying to repress, got married and had 3 kids. He finally came out, and is much happier being honest about how he feels, and yet he has still contributed to the increasing human population.

Some of these arguments are ridiculously stupid. Just because 2 women cannot directly create a baby by themselves, that doesn't mean it is impossible for either of them to actual give birth to a baby by other means.

Yeah I'm with you on this one, if you dont reproduce then you and your gene's are gone, unless of course that this sugegstion about it not being a dead end is in some way suggesting that the gays are in some way genetically deficient and them not reproducing is strengthening the genepool somehow by them not being part of it..

It might explain why there are so many gays all of a sudden.

The only people I know that have a problem with gay people are either racist or religious.... or both in the case of my friends mormon dad.

I know people who don't like gays for a multitude of other reasons

I can't see how racism would be realistic though, gays aren't really a race.

It's been quite eye-opening to read this thread and seeing the huge correlation between the names who were the most vocally taking issue with welfare payments and those who have a problem with gay people being able to express this and not wanting to be treated any differently because of it.

Is it born out of a deeply rooted selfishness or just a seething hatred of people not living the same lifestyle you live?

I could perhaps understand the welfare angle as it could be argued that you'd have a few pounds more if it didn't exist as a concept, but gay people literally do not affect you. Them being allowed to marry doesn't make your marriage any more meaningless than it already is, nobody is trying to recruit you, and if you think a Stonewall advert on the side of a bus is somehow in danger of turning you and you are deeply scared by this concept then why aren't you angry with every single advertiser for forcing you to buy their products?

Natural to the point where they as far as sexual reproduction goes, then no, but when you start bringing personal choice and stuff like that in then its about as natural as us wearing clothes...

That's not true. I hate people who play Devil's advocate. They're normally jerks, too afraid to say what they really feel. I say what I really feel, within the confines of a forum where moderators will censor me if I'm too mean for some of the delicate flowers around.

I expect an honest answer to this hypothetical question.

If you had a child, and the child turned out to be gay, would you 100% be ok with that?

I'm not asking if you would:

a) accept it
b) still love the child (duh)
c) come to terms with it.

I'm asking if you would 100% not mind at all and have no preference to if the son/daughter found a decent partner of the opposite sex.

You do realise that gay couples can adopt or lesbians can reproduce using donor sperm?

I also wouldn't mind if my kids end up gay or straight as long as they're comfortable in themselves.

we are all different I guess. I would be a bit put out by it I think. Of course nothing would change in terms of the big picture but I want my son to have a wife and kids. I dunno maybe I'm just old fashoned
