Persecution of Gays

What's pitiful is that bigots and homophobes can't think of a reason why they're afraid of gay people, so they just accuse right-thinking people of being "sheeple" instead.

read the thread there are plenty of reasons.

whats pitiful is that people cannot have/voice an opinion about homosexuality in society that is not 100% positive without being branded homophobic by the sheeple who dare not think for themselves.

You do realise that by voicing homophobic opinions, that does make you homophobic even if you don't like that label right?

Personally I don't see what the big deal is. I drink tea, others drink coffee. I have blond hair, others have red hair. I prefer girls, others prefer boys, I 100% genuinely don't get why it's an issue for anyone.

To answer the question above, I have a 6 year old daughter and if she brought home (In 10 or 15 years) a girlfriend I would have no problem with that at all, why would I?

Whole thing is wierd, people are people...

"Homosexuality has been around as long as mankind"

Interesting opening gambit - thank goodness Adam wasn't, else we'd of been in right lumber

And if they breakup guess who has pay for the child? yes the sperm donor. They never saw that coming.

Sauce please? In particular a source that indicates that if this is true, that it's only true for same sex couples.

I thought the whole point of donating sperm was that it was an anonymous donation and you ceded every right to a say in what happens to that sperm after you donated. Surely if that's the case you are also absolved of all responsibilies.

Not when that opinion is completely unfounded and based on outdated religious bigotry. Quite ironic you think that people who require evidence for their views are 'sheeple' rather than people who just accept what they're told.

Hopefully the last few pages have shown you how stupid your 'unnatural' argument is. Unless you can provide some evidence that society/parents influence people into being gay, I'll keep thinking you're a pitiful bigot.

That's the equivalent of "I can't be racist, I have a black friend", which always has been a load of crap.

Been waiting a while to whip this link out - excellent example.

To those saying about being born gay, are you born straight? However your sexuality is determined, it is by the same method whether gay or straight. I believe this negates any point that you might think is valid.

Find one homophobic opinion that I have raised?

Homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). It can be expressed as antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, or hatred, may be based on irrational fear, and is sometimes related to religious beliefs.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

nope.

I'm straight. I'm not homophobic. I don't care where or why you do what you, just don't force it in my face (without buying me a drink first).

However, what I can't understand is, IF people are "born homosexual" etc, what is it that makes some, and I do mean some, homosexual people camp - the voice, mannerisms etc - eg Rylan Clark, Alan Carr, Kenneth Williams, - is that within them at birth, or "learnt"? I'm curious. About that question, not my sexuality.

Hmm....if they could test unborn babies for homosexuality* would people be OK with homosexual babies being aborted on that basis? The ultimate nightmare for "progressives"

*assuming that homosexuality was discovered to be genetic.

I'm 100% sure that babies don't have sexual leanings. Pretty sure this invalidates immediately any trendy belief in the "gay is in the genes" myth.

Some straight people are very camp as well. And some female rugby players aren't lesbians.

They are indeed, but generally, campness is associated with homosexuality - why is that?

For instance, David Walliams, heterosexual, married to model with a yound child. Extremely camp. Rumours of homosexuality

Why is campness associated with homosexuality - is this because it's cliched and hence "some" homosexuals live up to this, or is it part of the genetics.

The "limp wrist" cliche, the "gay hand signal" we saw in playgrounds as kids - why should that determine your sexuality?!

I'm not a scientist, I don't know

Well he's right. You can't say "I'm not a racist but I would never employ a black person because I really don't like blacks". You can say how you aren't racist all you like but it doesn't change the facts that you are one.

I was LOLing at the notion of what is homophobic.

There are plenty of arguments against the redefinition of marriage that are based on logical positions that are not in any way homophobic.

For example the concept that society benefits from children being brought up by a mother and a father. One might not agree with the position but it isn't homophobic.

Anal sex, while not only practiced by homosexual men, is a risky activity to engage in. Suggesting that people shouldn't engage in it isn't homophobic.

Unfortunately too many people strive to shut down any discussion by using the term homophobe to bully people into submission. It has become a homo Godwin's Law.
