mega storms uk next week

think i spoke too soon about being glad I live on a hill as not long after my greenhouse got obliterated. Bought a load of PVC strengthening strips to reinforce the polycarbonate panels last summer, which helped, but they were no match for this wind.

Think it'll be getting binned now, cba keep replacing the panels every time it's windy :(.

That 4chan pic is nuts!

We need more weather girls who can make you feel good irrespective of the weather:

Lol, Good! Don't want another insurance job ;)
Actually if I was into that, now would be the time as my current car is valued around £3k but I had no interest selling it for £2k.
Haha I almost commented on that earlier but thought it would have been unfair.

Actually, haven't you got a different car now?

I had 2 at the time, a3 tdi I was trying to sell, I still use this car, but things are starting to break. Just had both brake discs + pads + calipers replaced, as they were doing so they found out one of my rear springs has snapped so having both of those done at the rear tommorow, the list goes on.

2 hours to get home tonight, trees all over the A51 in Cheshire and surrounding lanes.
Just got back from there, lanes closed at Nantwich so popped down a side road. Found a large bush blocking the road so pulled over, hazards on and heaved it onto the verge. Thought I'd better do something as it was on a bend.

Got to the end of this road and found the police had actually cordoned it off, presumably because of the bush I'd now moved :D

Saw lots of other people in the opposite lane on the way back swerving and braking because of bushes in the way, not one of the selfish turds bothered to stop and move them.
This modern "I'm all right Jack" attitude gets up my nose

Scored a few logs before I got home, so it's a good night if you want to stock up your woodpile :)

The one night I needed a well lit road ahead was the night my last remaining working bulb failed, drove home on side lights  and fogs. Not nice.

Isn't a caravan with electricity less safe than a house with none?

This is what candles and radios are for.

Well I wouldn't exactly call candles safe either.

Then again in the age of 1000 lumen torches and 3,000W batteries, who on earth uses pitiful candles these days?
