BMW 530D estate

It wasn't aimed at you - I get the logic but never initially made the connection.

Surely not though, you can't even buy a decent 3.0si for under £10k, which is about what I'd expect an £8k trade in to go for.

Would you pay over £15k for a 2004 A6? :p

It's a 2010, but it's the model introduced in 04. Same thing as the far cheaper ones so I don't get spending big money on it. I think mjt meant the new model when he suggested the A6. This is like him recommending an F10 and an E60 getting bought :p

Almost forgot about this, it's actually a 60 plate 2011 model so a facelift.

S-line, Le-mans edition 3.0 TDi

Andi.

The current 'new' shape A6 (C7) was released for MY2012 and started shipping in late 2011 (October'ish).

The previous 'old' shape A6 (C6) was first released in 2004 but had various updates along the way (including new versions of MMI), and was facelifted in 2009 & gained new engines.

The C6 (especially facelifted) isn't a bad car, aslong as you pay a price that reflects it's the previous generation. When I was looking at the A6 market for my Father there were some who were asking for amounts that weren't far off C7 money!
