I can see Arsenal winning on Sunday.
I said before the league game that I would rather win the league game. We may surprise Arsenal who were shocking last night at home but I'm not going to hold my breath.
I was under the impression that he has a 4 match domestic ban and so will not be playing.
I think I'd prefer Flamini was still banned, if Liverpool attack us like they did in the last game, well, Flamini will just end up with another red card from multiple cynical challenges trying to stop the team.
Wenger unfortunately refuses point blank to play to a team. So while we could play more defensively, play a little deeper, put maybe Gibbs or Monreal down the left wing to provide extra cover and a bit of pace on the wings rather than Caz or Ozil playing down a wing and offering no cover. Playing not Ozil and not Giroud.... then Flamini would make a great addition. Of course it's a cup game not league so a draw isn't great.
if we play as normal, which is likely, then we'll likely be over run again and Flamini is more likely to get himself sent off trying to desperately hold Liverpool back on his own than really make a massive difference.
(i) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the
Playing Season and 31 December (including any FTCM played on that day) in the
same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: -
One First Team Match
Players dismissed from the Field of Play in a FTCM, having previously in the same season been sent off
in a FTCM (or suspended under the Standard Directions set out in Schedule A in these Regulations for an incident in a FTCM), will be suspended for one extra match for each such previous sending off or suspension, in addition to the automatic suspension applicable to the dismissal. For the purposes of this regulation a previous dismissal in a non FTCM will only be taken into account where it was for violent conduct, serious foul play or spitting.
Where are you quoting from? Link?
I'm guessing it's either because it's after the amnesty, or because the two suspensions were different - one being for five yellows, with the other being for a straight red... I can see why two five yellow card suspensions, or two red card suspensions, is worse than two suspensions stemming from five yellows and one red over the course of a season, hence why the punishment may not be made more severe in that instance.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Wenger - trophyless since 2005

That clears that up then. We need him back to stop Sunday's game from being embarrassing.
Is there any need for that?![]()
Why does there seem to be so much confusion with how long Flamini's ban is?
But you have got into the Champions League all those seasons after, so basically you have won 7 trophies in that time.
Key thing is misinterpretation, as lots of news sites did this also many sources say 4 match ban rather than 3 match.
Either way if you look at the quoted bits above, from Leroy, the most important thing to see is the "will be suspended for one extra match for each such previous sending off or suspension"
the key here isn't you get an extra game for every other suspension but each "such" suspension as in, suspension for the same offence. First sending off for violent conduct, 3 match ban, second sending off for violent conduct, 3 + 1 match ban. First sending off for violent conduct, 3 match ban, first sending off for spitting, 3 match ban, first sending off for two yellow cards, 1 match ban, second sending off for two yellow cards, 1+1 match ban.
In this case Flamini got a one game ban for 5 yellows, and a 3 match ban for dangerous tackle, different offences, no extra ban added. If he got another ban for 5 yellows it would be a 2 game ban, or got another red for a dangerous tackle it would be a 4 game ban.
