When I was a baby my mother's cat got super jealous and had to be re-homed after it would constantly swipe at me and especially when my dad peeked around the back of the sofa where it was hiding and soon found himself with a cat attached to his scalp and blood pouring down his face. Before I was born it was supposed to be the sweetest little pussycat but it turned into a ferrel beast as soon as I came along.

I'm sure there's plenty of nice cats but lets not fool the OP into thinking they're perfect little balls of fluff.

So when you say "cats" you actually mean a single cat you had, that had issues.

The amusing thing is if you were judging a whole group of people by the actions of one, you'd be laughed out of the thread and be berrated to oblivion

in your opinion your cat was a lovely creature. it could have been the most scummy hate riddled beast out there, but you would still have the attachment which would mar any logical unbiased views.

any animal that can't be trained should not be a free roaming 'pet'.

This is what I hate the most about cats, why should I have to put up with other people's pets crapping in my garden?

Cats are literal animals and you have to demonstrate to it what you want it to do. Probably best done when you are sure that your neighbour is out - or at least unarmed.
 
Funny how cat evoke such a love/hate response. I love them, my father hates them with a passion, and they make my mum physically ill.

/sigh. What I'd do to have a Ragdoll, Cornish Rex, or a Savannah :p
