Potential scam artist: Lucid Dream Computers

That's weird, it was working for guests a while back. Anyway the gist of it is that this guy, Will, going by DreamXtreme hired a couple of established members to act as reps for his store and help with the website and then got vendor status on OCN. Then he has been allegedly playing the usual delaying of shipment, followed by sending cheap items like mice instead of GPUs and claiming the shipping service has been at fault and promising refunds that never come. The 2 reps shared their own incidents that so far make it pretty clear that the guy is a major scam artist with 4-5 banned eBay and PayPal accounts.

So if anyone went over there (http://www.luciddreamcomputers.com) and bought something, best to file a PayPal claim asap if this sounds familiar to you.

Ok got a confirmation that the thread is now in a member's only section, sorry about that. Damage control galore!

Thing is- he was offering discounts on parts as an intro promo. The discount was just enough to be lucrative and not enough to cause suspicion.

lol the guy's now threatening people in that thread with a lawsuit for slandering his good name. I wish you guys could read that thread, it's getting pretty entertaining at the moment.

Just had a read of it. Id be gutted if i got those mice. I got a gtx 660 from wae+ and RMA'd my card cos it didnt work after 24hours. They then didnt refund it for a couple of weeks and kept coming out with bs excuses, as to why they hadnt sent q replacement or refund. A month later they went bankrupt. :( that was £140 down the drain.

Easy way to show it.

"I ordered (4) MSI R9-290 Gaming Edition GPUs from LDC on January 26th. Look what showed up today..."

Another person that was scammed by this guy.

I acceded as I didn't suspect any foul play. Then, he claimed being sick + time differences affected him getting in contact with Taiwan (where item was shipping from) delayed shipment. After this he promised everything was ready and shipped out. Used the DHL waybill to check status of item and when it didn't seem to be moving, called DHL only to discover insufficient information had been provided by him causing it to fail customs clearance. After I'd messaged him about it, it started moving again. Finally reached Singapore but then 2 more things happened. Firstly, the address he'd given them was wrong. The postal code was correct but the building and apartment numbers were wrong. I would not have known this if I hadn't been continually in contact with DHL. Also, while arranging delivery, DHL asked me how I would be paying the tax for the 2000 GBP item! I was like "what is in that package?? I didn't order 2000 GBP worth of stuff!" I stumbled onto this thread after telling them to withhold delivery. I think that helped because otherwise, I might have opened the package to discover the ball from an old school computer mouse. I obviously didn't order enough to deserve a mouse.

Anyways, Paypal claims filed and escalated. Hopefully I get my money back and this guy bites the dust."

To be fair it shows how important buying gear from a reputable retailer is, not only that you get the product you ordered but also good customer service.

Watching the thread, Seems its his last scam though as its about 10k USD or more. Hopefully DHL will go for him for insurance fraud on shipping as will the police for fraud.
