*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Ah ok. Not sure what X is. Literally only just heard of it today. I'm quite narrow minded with Nintendo, I basically buy their consoles for Mario's and Zelda.

That was a good N direct!

I'm about half way through Xenoblade on the Wii so seeing some raw X battle footage was a nice surprise, the battle system in xeno is among the best in a jrpg.

And bayonetta is one of my favourite games of the past 8 years/last gen, the sequel is looking incredible - even more excited for it than i am for Mario Kart, which is also looking amazing.

Thought it was crap too, everything that's worth talking about is what we've already known for the past year. Maybe the next Nintendo Direct thats dedicated to the Wii U will be when they announce some new big games that are not platformers.

I got what I wanted - I'm buying day 1 SSB, MK, DK, X and Bayo2 - all this year - perfect.

Then 2015 the big one - Zelda U.

I don't want a choice of 400 pants games - I'd rather less titles but all top drawer.

Wow I've been falling out of touch with Nintendo far too much. Keep reading "MK8" as Mortal Kombat 8, then feeling depressed and embarrassed.

Tempted to buy a wii u now I miss Nintendo's first party games, do all the games support the wii remote/numb chuck not to keen on the wii u controller ?

Oo I missed Child of Light? Really hope Ubi ensures all their Ubiart stuff gets on Wii U - suits it very well...

Good NDirect then? Anyone got any X feeds? They still not named it yet?

ps3ud0

You have to use it on some games.

Not first party, but ZombiU for example is gamepad only. Lego city is gamepad only.

1st party, is a bit of a mix.

Mario 3d world, you can use other controllers, but there a few levels that you must use the gamepad.

Zelda windwaker hd, you can use pro controller, but you lose the map and quick item select.

So it's a bit of mixed bag, but there is no avoiding it completely.

Thanks for the reply the pro controller looks nice.

Yep at least 5 great exclusives for this year. I don't think I ever purchased more than 3 exclusives in a year on the 360, most were multi platform games.

There is a distinct lack of 3rd party games on the Wii U yes, which may not be a big problem if you own other platforms. That said, the wii u will still get the most of my play time this year.

Little disappointed their was no hyrule warriors. But it was still good! Mega excited for MK8! DK looks good fun too. X still looks a great game.

With those games and the ones I've got, that's more than enough for the whole year!
