Yep sounds about right. Forgot that things go much cheaper on the MM. Although you get less than you could on ebay, you don't have fee's to contend with and your chance of getting screwed over is considerably lowered.

Humbug, id take their offer up providing you can get £25-£50 towards it and it fits within your £250 budget. But if you accept the money, you have to buy one. Fair is fair.
If it was me though, id never go second hand on a main gaming gpu.

This is the beauty of nVidia. We can't mine, so you can feel safe that the card hasn't been ragged in its lifetime
And if you are unsure of overvolting, check the bench threads to see if they have been.

I probably wouldn't go second hand if i was buying through Ebay, going through the MM your chances of being stung are so low its worth it in my opinion. Cards that are working rarely die excluding the odd exception.
I've bought gods knows how many off the MM and so far all work, most people tend to agree on helping out if there is a problem with the card (RMA etc)

Yeah i hear you both, its just personal preference for me. If the worst happened and there was no warranty you're left up **** creek. I just don't like to take the chance unless i can slap another £300-£400 down easily on a new gpu. I rarely buy any second hand parts. I just like the peace of mind of a 2-3 year warranty. I did buy a second hand mechanical keyboard off 5UB, but thats about it.

If someone wants to sell Humbug a 780 for £275, I will put up the £25 on the proviso he doesn't sell it within a year

If warranty was assured/promised then i would go for it. No warranty, no chance. Especially as i have been known to do the odd benchmarking run on the firestrike threads lol. Generally speaking though, i do very little extreme benching. But i do like the peace of mind that if i do a near suicide run im covered if the worst happens.
