4770k @ 4.5 1.27v

Why not overclock it more to see how goes, as you might need big volts to get 4.6.

But 4.5 at 1.27v is fine all depends on your cooling as well as the Hades sorry Haswell gets quite hot when upping the volts.

My 4770k does 4.5ghz @1.25v but requires a big jump in volts for 4.6+

As for your question, no I wouldn't return it as there's nothing wrong with it.

Considering most can't get to to 4.5 with less than 1.3v, I would say you have a reasonable chip.

As for returning - No - you just haven't won the lottery :(

Not even if I could get a direct replacement hassle free? would you guys not take that gamble? or would you be happy with that clock and voltage.

It's a replacement where they ship to you first and then you have 30 days to return the item, so I can test it and if it does blow I can return it can keep the original.

I agree with the others [email protected] is a fairly good chip. You didnt say how you were cooling it?

Seems youve got an other one coming anyways, I doubt it will be any better to be honest.

4.5ghz at 1.27 is pretty decent. I've had three 4770k's and my current one is the best and will still not budge above 4.4ghz unless I go north of 1.325v. Temps get a bit out of hand at that voltage.

Good luck with your replacement cpu.

Looks like the gamble paid off. Now at 4.6 with 1.26v and it runs 5-9 c cooler, 4.5 only needs 1.22v, I'm happy with that.

After an hour of prime, more testing to do but I'm sure it will be stable.
