The FA CUP Fifth Round - 15/16/17 February 2014 *** Spoilers ***

Liverpool: Jones, Flanagan, Skrtel, Agger, Cissokho, Gerrard, Allen, Coutinho, Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge :(

Giroud's apparently injured his dick in someone elses wife so doesn't play for Arsenal today.

:D

Arsenal: Fabianski; Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscileny, Monreal; Arteta, Flamini; Chamberlain, Ozil, Podolski; Sanogo

Subs: Viviano, Sagna, Gibbs, Wilshere, Cazorla, Gnabry, Giroud

This could be a bit messy.

Peculiar line ups to me, particularly Arsenal.

Liverpool haven't got to play until next weekend so why rest Mignolet?

As for Arsenal, why not rest Ozil as well? And why bring Flamini straight back into the side if he hasn't played for a few games?

Bizzare in my opinion Baz. Arsenal are there for the taking today because Champions League is their priority, Liverpool should be fielding a full strength squad for what is effectively just another weekend game.

To be honest, I'd have liked us to give Suarez and Sterling a rest, maybe bring in Teixera/Morgan and Ibe. If one of them gets injured in this, it could derail our entire CL push, and at the end of the season I'd much rather have a top four place than an FA cup.

Playing a full strength team except for Mignolet sends weird mixed messages.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pick Jones in a reserve game if it was up to me but that's the idea though.

And Morgan's left the club manic (and not very good).

Has he? Fair enough, he looked useful the one time I saw him play!

Who have we actually got to play up top if both Studge and Suarez get injured then? Is that kid we bought from Germany (Yesil?) still around?

Edit: Oh, of course, Aspas. Oh dear.

Aspas. Yesil is still around but he won't be for much longer - he done his knee ligaments for the 2nd time the other month. He was supposed to be a huge prospect but you don't see too many players come back from 2 ACL injuries.

At least Borini has looked useful on his loan. If we can ship out Aspas in the summer and get a third choice striker in (assuming we don't lose Luis), then Borini will be a useful squad player.
