***The Official Nokia Lumia 1020 Thread***

That's good the camera speed has improved. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't miss android when I'm out and about as I think most of the apps I need are still on windows. Still got a month to decide but so far this is the front runner.

I was running an HTC One for last near year after my Lumia...I loved the phone if I'm honest however everything on Windows Phone is just that much better...yes it may be simplistic but it's so fluid and intuitive I have great hopes it will continue to evolve and become even better.

Have you used Windows Phone 7-8 before? If not this is the perfect time to jump in :)

Plus the 1020 can be had for around £350-£400 on the bay brand new...I managed to get one for £355 and with the Camera it's sporting that's value beyond value!

Never used a windows phone before always been an android guy. Honestly the specs always put me off for Windows the dual core and small battery but it doesn't seem to be an issue really.

Dual core is more than sufficient for what it does and surprisingly the battery performance is head and shoulders above what I was getting with my HTC One.

I actually think I could get two days out of it with a single charge.

Right now I'm charging my note 1 at lunch time to get it to last. So if I can get a day out of my next phone I'm delighted.

are you sure they are not from abroad? Most of the phones in the 350-400 seem to be asian supplied, or am i wrong?

When is a refresh due for this phone? If its not for a while, i might just get one of these, even though i much prefer android than windows but honestly the camera is really making me want this phone.

I still think the £599 price tag in most places is overpriced for the hardware.

Well considering I bought mines for £355 and it came via RMSD from a seller in the UK it certainly isn't from abroad ;) (Bought on 03/02/2014) I know what you mean though...a lot of the sites which Google Shopping takes you too are Asian based.

eBay is actually the best place to pick up the handset as there are new ones in the UK coming in at the region of £350-400.

There will probably be a refresh around the time Windows Phone 8.1 is announced (March/April time I believe) so should be only a few months away.

The beauty of the phone for me is that I plan on keeping it as my Holiday Phone/Camera...it's that good at the Camera Job I see no need to pack in an extra digi cam or use a standard Mobile Camera now. I'll be purchasing the attachment before Vegas in August :)

I'd wait for the new version. The old jerry rigged S4 ISP was never good enough, shot to shot time is way too slow and it misses out on many modern features.

A 1080p screen, 3000mAh battery and S800+ will make it epic, can't wait :)

Shot to shot is way too slow if you want to rapidly take shots sure...but a couple of seconds is nothing in the grand scheme of things for most :)

If the evolution sports those specs it will be epic indeed...and I will no doubt grab one :p

Hmm the current one came out in September in the uk so I would think we would be looking at September again no?

Quite a wait of thats the case

I'm tempted by the 64gb 1020 on O2 Refresh. If cashback tracks, then the phone could be had for ~£260. I know the camera is the biz, but will I be disappointed 'upgrading' from my 920?

It won't really feel any different to use as the spec is very similar. Maybe a little quicker.

I have the 920 whilst my mrs has the 1020, there is really not a lot in it bar the camera. (I think the screen is AMOLED on the 1020 as the black seems proper black if you know what I mean).

God damn thats tempting.

But I think im set for saving and just buying sim free again for the 1020 replacement now.

doing some maths id get £160-190 ish or so from selling my 64gb one and getting this, but reviews are very mixed on mobilephonesdirect in terms of service, and as its a lot of money it does make me wonder :/

also its way cheaper than any other deal on hduk for the 1020
