opinions on this car?

You're bored of a Focus, so the answer is to replace it with an as dull as dishwater diesel Astra? You'll be bored of the Astra in not time.

Buy something fun that you'll love, or stick with the Focus.

ok so ive had a good think, took on board the comments and had a look around and ive seen this.

BMW

if i get minimum 3k for my car, that put this at £9k without any haggling.

ive ran an insurance quote and tesco quote me at £480 fully comp.

I have a 2.0 CDTi Astra Sri. It's ok nicer than the last Astra especially the interior. The DPF is not as much of an issue as made out. If you give it a decent run once a month you will be fine the Vauxhall system is actually one of the better ones. I would not say it's a fun car to drive more comfortable than fun.

But I would not be paying £9.5k for one. I also only do around 10k a year but I prefer the way a Diesel drives I'm not overly bothered about MPG.

I know its approved used but that's pretty outlandish money to spend on a 2007 325i coupe IMO.

If you decide you'd really like a BMW its one of the better choices ( the 325 in general), should be quite a bit of choice, its a nice engine and one of the more reliable examples.

Don't be under any illusion that I'll cost anything close to the focus to run though. You're talking 150-200 a rear tyre....if its had the runflats ditched, servicing is pretty reasonable from BMW now but still a league above ford - which is pretty much the way to consider all running costs with it.

I don't think a change of cars is going to save you money. For your mileage, a 1.6 Focus will be cheap to run. There's plenty of cars that are faster and more enjoyable to drive though. If you can afford it the 325i would be a noticeable upgrade.

Im not doing it to save money, i want a good quality car.

for the mpg i get out of my focus (30) i might aswell be driving something with a bit more umph too.

i looked into a civic type R too but the wife didnt like it.

How much haggling can you do with dealers?
