25% of Americans don't know the Earth orbits the Sun, 52% don't believe in evolution and 42% think A

lol when she says gargoyles , even churches have them :S
they are just statues designed to catch rain water and spout it away from the walls

But you forgot to mention, the EU only scored 66%, behind the "dumb" Americans.
And uk on its own, only scores 67%, so yeah we're retarded.

I know what you mean about anti biotics. My kids were both recently I'll with something caught at school and my wife insisted I take them to the doctors to get anti biotics. When I explained they wouldn't help her sisters started nagging that I Wasn't talking their illness seriously. So I took them under protest... And as expected the doctor said it was a virus and they just had to get over it.

Often while ill with a virus bacteria will take the opportunity to infest as well so your wife was right.

No i agree with him. People with that attitude, like his wife, are the reason we have super strains, taking them willynilly for any little thing.

When kids are concerned there is nothing wrong with siding on the air of caution, Bacterial infections can easily manifest as a virus, let the dr's decide, they are the ones trained in this after all.

Your wife was right in that sense but going for the sake of obtaining antibiotics was perhaps misguided :)

That aside, taking antibiotics is not the problem, its when people dont see the course through allowing the more resilient strains of the virus to remain.

It's a bit harsh to judge Americans based on states like Kansas, it'd be like using the Irish or worse, Welsh as an example for the whole of Europe.
