As the title suggests, I recently created a build with the above power supply and it's a lot noisier than the rest of my system, it seems to be working perfectly though. just wondered if anyone else had had experience with this. the fans i'm using in the case are be quiet! shadow wings low RPM and they are literally silent compared to the PSU! is their anything i can do to quieten down the PSU, i'm guessing opening it up and switching out the fan would void the warranty.

Thanks in advance for your help.

So it's fan noise and not an electrical buzzing noise yeah?

I've got the superflower 1200 Leadex Plat and the fan is whisper quiet, no whine under load either.

Yeah it's definitely the fan, don't get me wrong it's rather quiet but i was trying to build an almost silent rig, and the power supply is noisy compared to the rest. Another thing I noticed is that the spec sheet on overclockers says it has a blue LED fan whereas mine does not, wonder who's part that is a mistake on.

Check if there's warranty stickers over the screws?

I'm still in work at the mo so can't check if mine has them

Also, does the fan seem to be running at an unnaturally high RPM? PSU fans should be big and slow RPM

When you're trying to build a true silent system there's a lot of trial and error when picking parts.. I've been there done that :)

The fan on the psu will probably be considered really quiet for most people.

The blue LED was on the older golden green series.

What rig are you powering? I'd recommend getting one of the Be Quiet E9 if you're going to change the psu. Unfortunately OCUK don't stock this particular model, only the cheaper + more expensive ones.

Yep i guess so! it's quiet enough to be honest, just at night if i leave it down loading.

this is the rig:

Fan is fine just me being picky to be honest, i'm building another rig soon so i'll swap it out in to that and get my self something new. Want something modular
