Thought it was time to start a somewhat more positive thread after my O2 one :).

Was testing out EE's 3G network today and I must say I am REALLY impressed. Here's a speed test:

This is in the middle of a field in Hampshire, near to the village where I live (a very small village). This is just fantastic!

What's everybody else think about EE?

I've moved to EE from Vodafone about 3 weeks ago now.

I've been very impressed with the level of coverage and my data on the move is ten times better than it was before.

I got 12.49 on EE 3G on my ipad earlier. I usually run a test to see if it's worth trying some painful public wifi.

Ever since I moved from T-Mobile to EE, my 3G speeds have increased noticeably.

Then there's the awesome 4G speeds...

I'm out in the sticks and currently on Three. Contract is about done so been testing EE's 3g payg service. Around here I get around 5mbps down and 2.5 up with Three with pings of around 100. EE I get 2.6 down and 1.5 up with pings around 200. Both with good signal strength. Does vary but those would be about the average. I've had a lot better nearer town with Three though yet to test EE's 4G cos my 4G phone has bust. The aforementioned results were with a Razr i.

I don't know if to stick with Three as their service has been good or switch to EE who have 4G about 7 miles from me and hopefully nearer at some point though not holding my breath. Three's 4G is some time off I guess. BUT ... on my phone Three's 3G service is more than good enough and is cheaper than EE and ya don't bother monitoring data usage :D My few dealings with Three customer service is another matter  Voda and O2 are a waste of time here so not in consideration.

Not sure if srs... :P
I have a great respect for their network team and especially their design teams - the Radio network guys are killing it with their rollout right now but the mast de-activation project makes me cry inside for all the customers who suddenly lose signal. If anyone notices a substantial drop over the next 2 years immediately call up and get a femto - don't suffer in silence.

12 down is about where it should be - you'll likely be attached to a low pop mast if you're in the sticks so you should be able to get that Dual channel goodness.

If anyone has 4G results from the square mile / bristol centre (whiteladies yo) I would love to see them btw. Not been to brizzle for a bit and it's where I used to do my tests in the evening.

I moved to EE 4G a few weeks ago and have found that strangly my voice signal has dropped to 1/2 bars, yet for data it's there much sooner than I had 3G. When I'm at work (St. Pauls area of London) I had real issues with signal, but no longer have that issue.

Speed test from SE London is 22.9 Mb/s down and 39.6 Mb/s up.

Fish

I only ever get a max of 3.8Mb/s because I'm on an unlimited data plan which sucks.

That's why I jumped ship to Three, I wouldn't of minded as much if they'd just admitted they throttle but they just kept telling me that the over night quartering in speed when I moved from 1gb to UL was down to something else.

There's already a massive thread about EE 4G from before http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18441038 :).

Quote from myself in November 2012:
Have to say I'm pretty impressed, and their 3G speeds when there's not LTE signal aren't too shabby either.

Looking through my speedtest.net history, my best was July 2013 when I got 63MB download and 23MB upload :). I find it rather amusing reading about people on other providers going OMG 4G IS AWESOMZ JUST GOT ITZ and I'm like "Derp, had it 15months already" :p.

I've been on their tariff since Dec 12 and have 20GB download allowance...

Best I've seen was just shy of 70Mbps down and 50 up at White City at the end of summer last year.
