Hello everyone,

I’ve received a few inquiries about capturing gameplay footage (or video) while running our latest Catalyst 14.1 Beta driver with the Mantle API.

At the moment, there is currently no software available to capture overlay on Mantle; the best way to capture gameplay footage is by using a capture card or device.

Note, we expect to release the Mantle SDK later this year, which will enable software capture solutions.

That's great news, any information if radeonpro will be able to hook into the api for RP features in the future?

Hi Shankly, this is probably going to sound weird :p, what do you mean by "RP features" (what's RP)? Let me know and I'll do my best to get you an answer

Thanks for the update Warsam.:)

OT, but might as well put it here, Minecraft missing textures getting fixed on next driver?

Most of the textures are missing on 14.1beta, however there is a workaround:

Hey guys, so I like many others are having issues with Minecraft not loading any textures, except for the sword. For some of us it's a easy fix, just to expand the 2 ati opengl .dll files into the folder and you're good. I thought I would help some not so advance users here and upload them for you to use.

These are the .dll from the 13.30 RC Driver release.

You can place them inside of your Java bin folder without having to replace any of the core system files if that is safer for you.

THANKS MerolaC FOR LETTING US KNOW THIS DOES WORK!

Windows x64 C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin
Windows x86 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin
If you are running a different version other than Java 7, just replace that number with your version and it will work.

If that doesn't work for you, feel free to do it the original way, but please note that messing with your system core files can mess with your computer. Only replace these if you feel safe doing so.
You will need to put them in your System32 folder (and for some SysWOW64.)

C:\Windows\System32
C:\Windows\SysWOW64
It may ask you to replace the already placed files, go ahead and overwrite the "newer" broken files with these so you can get back to breaking blocks.

If you need to revert them back to the original files here is a link thanks to MerolaC again!

It works with the workaround, but thought I'd let you know just the same.

Thank you for the clarification. I'll get the ball rolling now...

:-) Thanks to your questions and this post I've learned something new today.

It will depend on the public SDK we plan on releasing, sorry I don't have more details about this at the moment to share with you.

In general, when we release a new SDK we normally post it on our site (http://developer.amd.com/) for all the developers to download and integrate in their software. During this time frame we email the developers and/or make an announcement to ensure we everyone knows about the SDK availability. On my front, I'm pretty sure I'll be notified and when I do, I'll be sure to post here.
