The only instance the Titan Black makes sense over the Ti for someone who is purely gaming is if you are using 1600P + or NV Surround where the added VRAM is required. It's been confirmed that BE is the same PCB as a 780Ti.

As nice as the extra VRAM is, it's really not worth it this late in the day on GK110.

Well in the past you could too,but it didn't mean the consumer cards had as good image quality or as decent viewpoint acceleration as the professional ones(I think they could detect what cards were consumer ones).

It would be interesting if that has changed. It would be a strange move from Nvidia as they would essentially have killed sales of their single workstation Quadro line.
 
You often see people say the quadro drivers have better IQ but they don't work as well across all games as the dedicated "gaming" drivers do that's all.

I'm guessing dual 780ti's in SLI would be better than a single Titan for 1600P 144hz or other hefty requirements?
