Just received my Sapphire 290x Tri-x OC from here & I have a small query, Advertised speed is 1040Mhz/5200 but mine is reading 1010Mhz/5000.

Yes I know I can easily correct that using afterburner but I thought it was factory overclocked out of the box.

Apart from that, it's so BIG!

That is the stilt I made left over from the 7990 to support it from sag. I created a template and was about to add two floor fans blowing up before I RMA'ed the card and now have the 290X.

Looks like a bit of plastic pipe he's using to prop up the droopy end of his card. There are a few of the aftermarket card that have a proper backplate to stop that sort of thing.

Any pics of the aftermarket thing?

And it all in and finished.

Just look at the MSI, Asus or the Powercolor 290. They have a big metal plate across the back to help support it.

just had a quick blast for 10 mins on bf4 around 75 on both cards with a custom fan profile

I think it would be fun to have a max temp comp for 290P/Xs

Go three times round the Heaven 4 bench @stock GPU clocks and record the max temp reached in GPUZ for cores and VRMs.

Benchmarking, or just a normal run? I'll give it a bash. What are the rules though? Are we allowed a custom fan profile or pure stock settings? I assume i can turn my case fans up a bit?
