FIFA 14

Yeh i get that. just seems some players skill far easier than other players rated the same. Just wondering which stand out as more natural skillers.

Im not always great at expressing what i mean :D

I think you need to start looking at other aspects of your game and not trying to fix it with squad changes. You obviously have a play style that has reached the end of its life span, either it is something small like for example the way you receive passes/tackle/dribble or not dribble or it is something more fundamental like you overall style, charge and barge, wing play, swarm play ( bombarding the in possession player with as many of yours as possible) or the way you defend/man marking/gap cover etc. Im not criticizing your game play at all mind i'm just saying that spending money in the search of the perfect combo isn't working for you so its more the way you play than who you play with.

Remember it takes games to settle in to a player so changing your play style or formation will take even more. Have you tried a single striker? This gives you the benefit of greater midfield presence and allows for more of a build up play style IMO, do you rely heavily on constant forward attack, do you play a slower pace of game? maybe look to speed things up at least just to create space so you can implement a slower more focused move. if vice versa slow things down.

if you scored more goals with eto'o and jov use them, you know you have a performing pair so then you can concentrate on other things without questioning the usefulness of your strikers.

If it was me i would sell rvp, build a second squad with suarez as a lone striker, use a different formation and practice a total different game play with that.

I agree with everything you say.

It's frustrating because I got to division 3 with good play and I wasn't having a problem with my strikers, I just had some coins and decided I wanted to further 'upgrade.' I now realise I shouldn't have done this because different strikers means adapting to a different style of play and because I was trying to play 'attractive' football with the likes of Aguero, this is where I was struggling and I started to drop points. Therefore getting relegated from division 3 to division 5.

I will for now switch back to Jovetic and Eto as it's clear that this has
worked for me before and maybe it's just that these 2 strikers suit my style
of play. I don't tend to dribble through defenders, I prefer to pass through them and get shots just in or just outside of the box. (Scored most of my goals outside of the box I think).

I don't really want the hassle of making another squad, trying a different
formation would be an idea but again it means taking on a new style of play.

What tends to be the most favoured formation here? I know there is no 'best' formation but I do see a lot of people on here playing with just 1 striker upfront.

What formation would you recommend for a lone striker?

Also, 41212 seems to be the most common formation in FUT14. I think I
see people using it more than any other formation. Why is this formation
so popular? I chose it based on some research and some guides I read for FUT14,the main thing that attracted me to it was that you have at least 2-3 options for passing no matter where you are on the pitch and your players cover a lot of ground.

Cheers

Since moving to PS4 - ive played about 10 games or so just without putting any money into the game, my strike partnership off Sturridge and Carroll scores more goals than most of my previous strike partnerships, Carroll is on about 10 goals in 6 games, Sturridge 6 in 6.

Lone striker formation Tom - try 5-2-2-1 its very attacking - Jovetic is good for this role.

Trying to build a team round some of the UP players. Got 4 of them in a team but now I am stuck with who to put into CM.

This is my team but I'm not really playing much at the moment.. tempted to sell up? Should get 500,000 or so I'd think?

This. If thats youre play style though then Aguero should have played much better for you as 90% of the goals he has scored for me are outside the box. He plays a lot like eto I found, where he is great off the shoulder of the last defender.

Tom, Sorry if this has been said before but i feel you should have 2 aquads running, just to delevop your play style.

I started by using my Seri A squad as a fitness team for my BPL team but then found they were actually as good/better.

THe reason i say this is you then learn (by force) different styles of play, lets take my teams as an example.

My BPL team as a fast front man and some very strong CAM behind, so i play the counter attacking game. But it also allows me to shoot from diastance as my CAM's (Rooney, Cabaye and Nasri) have very hig longshots (and also good finishing if they are in that position). \

I tend to sit back, soak up the pressure, then break quickly... Or play a deep passing game (using my CDM's) then unleash a killer pass/cross.

Whereas my Seri A side are more a build up team. They have a bit of pace (balotelli, Vucinic) but there main attributes are strength, heading and passing, this means i play a slower passing game, slow the tempo down and look for the killer pass/header.

Dragging defenders out of position is the main aim of this tactic, or just creating space to shot from semi-long (haha) range

Does this make sense mate? :)

Tom try this:

------------ Vucinic -------

Marchisio - Guarin - Di Natale

---- Vidal ------ De Rossi -----

Radu - Chiellini - UP Benatia (or SIF) - Konko

-------------- Handanovic ------------

That is the most physical team I have played with in the game, you could make it even more physical by using Balotelli (but I didn't like him Vucinic for me was better) or Ibarbo where Di Natale is, then I would stick Di Natale in the middle for Guarin because Di Natale is just awesome in the game.

That team costs peanuts and is one of the best teams you can make in the game imo.

Also Tom changing formation is free so nothing stopping you playing 433 with your current side as well and trying it. LM at LW will get max chemistry as long as he's loyal and has a manager link. CDM at CM will also get max chemistry with loyalty and manager link so you don't even need to position change.

Depends on coins but they're easy enough to put together.

Lars Bender --- Gustavo --- Gundogan
Alaba - Dante - Boateng - Piszscek
Weidenfell / Adler

And then front 3 of your chosing depending on coins.

I had a Bundes side when I first started playing which was a strong team however I had absolutely no idea what I was doing but it was great fun.

Reus was an absolute beast.

Amazing to use.

I want to keep my BPL side but I've got no problems on spending coins on a really strong bundes side (will help squad fitness, won't have to keep buying fitness cards) with Reus, Neur, Schweinsteiger etc.

Should be good in 433 as well? Why type of 433 formation should I use?

Cheers
