***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

if your on PS4 add me and other people in the OP

tips are stick to what you know, i would say stick with engineer as you can take out tanks and stuff a lot easier with a launcher.

it's impossible to take out a tank with assault or medic, etc.

join the rest of us when we party up and you can learn how to play effectively as a team. i generally like to be AA and shoot down helicopters, etc but on some maps switch to RPG for the tanks.

don't spray and pray unless it's up close combat, stick to firing short busts.

modern weaponry is very easy to shoot, the training that goes into soldiers is not how to use these weapons, but to use them instinctively, from muscle memory, so they can perform in high stress situations and perform consistently again and again. That and to get better accuracy at range by learning to control their breating etc.. One of the reasons the british infantry introduced a 7.62 DMR in afghanistan is that taliban skirmishes were taking place at ranges of well over 500 metres where 5.56 becomes less effective.

Looking to go vegas again next year, how did you rate battlefield vegas by the way ? the competition is fierce so lots of places to choose from.

Yeah that's it like, the weapons are easy to use but being able to cope with everything else in a battle situation on top of using your gun is something else entirely.

I was more freaked out and the realisation of how easy a random person could kill loads of people with a gun I mean I knew it already but using it myself really hit it home.

I rate their range very highly but it's the only one I've tried.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They picked us up in an army truck from the Mandarin (don't think the staff at Mandarin are used to their guests doing it as they were asking us what it was for! lol).

They were helpful in aiding us while choosing guns, and as I said earlier were good enough to give us extra pictures, and entrance to the vault and a good 15 minute explanation of various guns they had and their origins which was all free.
Don't think anyone gets this, so just be friendly with them and you probably can do that.

Was fairly expensive but worth it

Just played some second assault for the first time and quite enjoyed it. Then went to play some standard maps and have lost all progress and unlocks for every class :/

Bf4 stats website still shows all my progress but in game it's like I've started with a new game :(

gonna start multiplayer this afternoon :) any tips for a noob? i dont have any friends on ps4 either, so id be going it alone. will i run into any problems going lone wolf?

Add me if you want: Lord_Bir0n.

On the first page of this thread there's a list of everybody's PSN ID's. Maybe add some of them. It's quite a laugh when a few of us are on.

These new (old) maps are horrendous. Lots of slowdown and crashes....

Same here on 64 player conquest, The slow down is anyway. At least the upgrade itch isn't there that I got with PC's when things ran slow :D

I'm slowly getting better thanks to SDM, I will venture into conquest when anyone actually plays :p

what maps have no air vehicles and few to no vehicles? Definitely my preference, don't think I like this as much as the past games unfortunately

tempted to try but didn't like the last one. bf4 just seems to lack smoothness and sharpness? No trust in my bullets whatsoever, hitting sponges apparently

play TDM and Domination then

imo i think all the game modes are good, you just need to get used to them.

tanks are no problem if your playing with mates in a squad, spawning on each other as an engineer with RPG, etc.

always good to have one guy with a stinger as well as a medic

To unlock the MTAR-21 does it matter what grenade you use or can I use any of them?

i don't think it matters, use the one where you start with 3 of them, that way you have multiple attempts.

i found a guy who was using a mortar and then threw all 3 at him whilst he was lying on the ground in front of me when i done it.

Some what that, yes. The emphasis is on safety though. We get drilled over and over how to not unwittingly shoot yourself or your oppo. Also how to shoot aimed shots at the intended target. If you're unsafe with a firearm then you won't possess a weapons handing certificate. This means you won't deploy, end of.
