Hi guys,

Basically ive been thinking about moving to america and becoming a firefighter/police officer, is there anyway i can apply for a fire/police academy/university over there to help me get a green card?

Thanks

I think you have to be a citizen before you can be a cop. But I do know that if you have a police record here you have no chance.

So first you have to get in then become a citizen and go from there.

IIRC, there are some (rare) jurisdictions that don't require citizenship, but they most certainly require permanent residency status.

You need a greencard to even think of being able to do this and most likely citizenship too.

This is contribution to this thread how...?

I would say research online as I am sure you need a Green Card before they will allow you to join as a Cop.

Let me break it down for you.

Person wants information of how to get into America.

His dreams are then ruined within the first response.

My response was a well known phrase of someone "****ing on my strawberries" when their dreams have been shattered.

Comprende?

Unless you can make realistic sound effects with your voice, I doubt you'll be accepted.

I suggest you find another dream :)

My Brother went to the states quite a few years ago to become a Firefighter over there , he had been a Firefighter in the UK , anyway it didnt work out so well for him partly due to the initial entry tests being seriously hard and partly due to the heat ( before midday its over 100f )...he was living in San Bernardino at the time as i recall... so he came back to the UK and joined the Met lol

I want to be a firefighter, but also have an aversion to heat. Amazing.
