Me and the Husband are going to London for a couple of days at the start of April.
We have been to London a couple of times before and we have eaten at Maze, Foxtrot Oscar and the Pizza bar in Harrods.
We was thinking of maybe one 'nice and decent' meal and wondered if anyone here had any suggestions?
Husband recalls reading something on here about a place that does a cracking Sunday roast but cant remember what it is called?
Anyway... What are your suggestions for a nice meal (not necessarily romantic) for a 20 something married couple in the center of the big city?

There are way better places probably, but we really like Maxwells but that's mainly because we have allergies in the family and they cater well for them. (I really toot their horn a lot :p)

Surprised someone got away with calling a restaurant Foxtrot Oscar...upon further inspection I suppose I should have guessed it would be Gordon Ramsey's!

If it helps maze was excellent, Foxtrot Oscar was terrible.

Also Hawksmoor rings a bell I'll look into prices.

Does anyone have any opinion on Flat Iron?
I've only been there once. That was at 10pm after too many beers where we just desperately needed some food. I had been meaning to go there 'properly' for ages but could never get in! The food was great but it's a lively place, think Wagamamas but 'cooler' (we ended up sharing a table with others). Meals are only £15pp so it's not really in the same league as the other suggestions. Good for a lunchtime though.

Great call for the Social Eating House. I've not managed to eat there but the Blind Pig upstairs is a lovely place for a few cocktails.

Gymkhana seems to be wildly hyped-about at the moment. The food looks amazing. I can highly recommend the Connaught if you want a special occasion. Proper old Mayfair hotel, 2 michelin stars. Fantastic food and service.

EDIT:
I absolutely love this place. It's just down the road from me in Chiswick so it's not really in Central London though. We went the other weekend on a Saturday night. 4 of us turned up at 7.55pm, but they had lost our booking. In fact someone had cancelled their table for 4 at 8pm, they just thought it was us! To their immense credit we got a table almost immediately. Maybe we were lucky, but blimey that's impressive for a Saturday night peak time. The sommelier there is hilarious as well. He made us try some Canadian wine..? :p
