Can anyone explain what this means exactly?

"Each tour operates subject to sufficient demand.
In the event of 'Places of Interest' being closed, or road conditions en-route prevent the tour as advertised being operated, every endeavour will be made to substitute an alternative, but the Company reserves the right to cancel or alter arrangements."

Basically, I went on a tour with the gf, we booked one specifically to see Stonehenge and spend an afternoon in Bath.

However, we were told we'd go to Salisbury for a short visit to the Cathedral, which meant our time in Bath was only for one and a half hours.

We specifically wanted to spend the afternoon in Bath, and weren't too happy after realizing how short a stay we'd have, thus missing out on all the things we wanted to visit.

I'm in the middle of writing a complaint letter., so we just wanna know where we stand really.

From what I can see from the last paragraph, is that they can cancel or alter arrangements if the places of interest are cancelled, or roads or closed.

But it doesn't mean that they can simply add another stop, and take away from the actual tour I had paid and wanted.

This is the description of the Bath tour

"A whole afternoon to discover Bath's major sights; our walking tour will show you Pulteney Bridge, the Circus and the Royal Crescent, you will get a fascinating insight into how Bath became the world-class attraction it is today. Bath offers a unique experience with stunning architecture, great shopping and iconic attractions."

We received none of the above.

Cheers guys!

Err, the only must see thing in Bath is the Roman Baths,
the Bridge, Circus and the Royal Crescent are for architecture buffs.

I quite liked the Costume Museum.

My gf loves Jane Austen, and wanted to see the centre, which is a 45min tour, then time to explore as well.

We wanted to have lunch there and do some general exploration too.

Bath's not that great but 1 1/2h would not be enough. Need a minimum of 3/4 day if want nice meal etc lots little streets to explore, but yes i would complain. you didn't pay to go to Salisbury, that place is Swindon with a Cathedral h

I wouldn't get out of bed to see Salisbury Cathedral,
you were sold a whole afternoon in Bath, not traipsing around a dull Cathedral, complain.

Were any reasons for the change given at the time?

You do really need a full day in Bath, it's lovely on a summers day.

Why was it changed?

And why book a tour like this in the first place? Can't stand the idea of following someone around with a sign, especially if you know where you want to go anyway.

I liked Salisbury cathedral actually, one of the better cathedrals i've visited from a visitors perspective, lots of history and tours too. I've been to a few cathedrals but at least Salisbury tells a 'story', the oldest working clock in the world etc, and they have guided tours.

My partner and i stayed in Bath overnight a few weeks ago and still never got to see everything there, missed the Pulteney bridge, and never went in the roman baths, we plan to go back in April though, it's a really nice city.

We checked in and they just said we'll have a short stop in Salisbury.

Had we know it would have eaten into our time in Bath we would have complained then and there.

The time taken to make the detour and the hour or so spent there meant our time was severely cut.

This is the first tour I've been on, and it was nice to learn something along the way.
