Anybody Tried these 'Spray-On' Screen Protectors?

Such as ones made by Dynaflow.

Basically, you wipe a liquid onto your phone and an invisible film sets that is twice as strong as a traditional screen protector (claimed by Dynaflow).

Do they work? Do they provide good, real-world protection from lint, dust, sand, etc.?
 
I think these are a bit of a mystery tbh.

How do you know if it's worked? Since it's invisible you cannot see it.

How do you know it's still working and hasn't worn off after some time?

It's also rather expensive, I can get like 5-6 screen protectors off ebay for less than £2, if you keep the phone for 12 months that means you can change the screen protector every 2 months to pretty much keep it looking brand new and scratch free.

Personally I would never buy this.
 
I personally hate those plastic screen protectors. End up with either dust or bubbles trapped between and generally the edges soon start to lift. There are the more expensive 'glass' ones but have no experience of them.

Anyway, I've used the Crystalusion one on a couple of phones. Consists of a cleaning wipe and a wipe with the 'coating' on. It's a bit like the Emperors new clothes and you take it on trust. My experience has been good. It has kept my razr screen scratch free though I do take care to keep the phone in a pocket with nothing else. I work in a dirty dusty environment often with filthy hands btw. Does seem easier to wipe clean with a quick wipe on sleeve. Makes all sorts of claims to resist bacteria and such. It has a similar smell when applying it to Rain-X :confused: Like I say after quite some months the Razr HD screen is pristine ..... apart from the crack of the 2nd under-layer of glass rendering it useless :mad: which has nothing to do with the screen coating.
 
Took me a while to remember the name of the video but:


It works very well. Once it's damaged, you can scrape it off, and spray a new layer.
 
Thanks for that video. It is good to show that it works, but it is inaccurate. Linus uses plastic screened phones and this product is only meant for glass screens.

I would have thought if the product is as thin as the manufacturer suggests (thinner than a human hair) one couldn't pick it off? Can someone confirm this?

About a year on these phones Note, s3, N4 and an s4 since I got it, it's pointless to put up pics because they're all scratch and abrasion free and don't get finger prints also 3 of them aren't here at the moment.

I initially bought it because it's cheap and I hate screen protectors but like to protect my screen, there was nothing to lose and it turned out to be great, I have no tiny scratches and don't get an oily screen.

If the chemical hardening didn't work and I'd just been ultra lucky in terms of scratches, two of the phone are heavily used by teenage boys, the oleophobic properties would render the product a good buy.

Plastic screen protectors provide little to no shatter protection and scratch easier than any iteration of gorilla glass so look fuggly scratched and greasy to no gain hence the widespread derision and naked screen movement.

All of the phones were carried 24/7 in pockets and in a variety of good quality flip cases however only my Spigen Slim Armor View has a clasp mechanism so the others are a hostage to fortune re trapping grit on the screen.
 
I may just have to give this product a go on my new Note 3 when it arrives! I've got some screen protectors too, but this just sounds really compelling.

Have you (needed to) re-applied(y) it in the time you've used the product?

Yup I've reapplied on all the phones as the box instructs, can't remember details, as I knew I was buying for the family I bought the large bottle, you can sorta tell when it needs applying.

I watched a couple of Vids before I did the initial application so I had the technique perfect.
 
I've been using this product for a few months now and I would not recommend it. I have picked up lots of small scratches on my phone just by having it in my pocket and taking it out, putting it back in again...

Awful product. Stick with screen protectors!
 
I started using the Liquid armour about a year ago on my 920, as I got two small scratches I went and got some more expensive screen protectors, of course with the curved's edges of glass on the 920, its looked hideous, so off it came into the bin, so got the LA spray instead, all I can say is after just over a year, with out particularly looking after like a precious jewel, the screen has been the same.

So which spray was best, I'm guessing LA means liquid armour, and you seem to have bad and good experiences.

Dynaflo liquid armor, 50 spray bottle, watch a couple of Vids and do the job properly, as I say if only for the oleophobic properties it's worth it imho, I hate screen covers, though all the phones I pay for are in good flip cases the screens are perfect after being used by teenage boys for over a year.
 
I've never bothered with a screen protector and I treat my phones like crap. I guess I must have been luck.

Still cool product - I've used a lot of these superhydrophic-type sprays over the last year (works well in concrete chutes believe it or not!) so may give this a go.

Liquid Armour yes, I may have written it badly, I would say all of my experiences have been good, but then how do I know I just might have been lucky, and how many times its stopped smaller scrapes from happening!?...its the question you cant answer.

Re reading my inital post I must have been drunk in work again, its reads terribly.

I first used Screen protectors, they looked awful so binned them.
That's when I found and bought the Liquid Armour and applied it.
Haven't seen any new scratches since applying it and that's been over a year ago, with a 6 month reapplication. Saying that a bottle of it will last for years, you use very little of it really.

The only problem with these things is for every person who say's I used it for a year and got no scratches, there's people like me who haven't scratched their naked screens on my S3, S4 or N5 and I don't keep them in cases or sleeves or treat them with kid gloves.
