Yes, bite their hand off immediately
Yes, bite their hand off immediately
£400 and the cost of my original TV.How much are they asking you to put in?
Sorry - should have clarified.
I've taken JL up on their offer and the VT65 will be with me on Wednesday next week.
I was rather hoping to have a screen on the wall this weekend, but I can handle a few extra days given I've been almost four weeks without one.
Whats different between the 50B and 65B? Says both are 50"…
I'm very pleased to say that the VT65 has arrived and is sat on the wall, happily playing a documentary on BBC Four HD.
If I had to sum the thing up in one word, I'd have to say it was magnificent.
While I appreciate I've been mainly looking at a mounting bracket on a wall for the past four weeks, I'd like to think my sense of quality hasn't been diminished that much. And I'm honestly staggered by the pictures on this thing - it makes my old VT20 look like a relic from a bygone era.
The only things to let the side down thus far are the needlessly intrusive Smart functionality (for which I care little, although I appreciate I'm firmly in the minority there) and the lack of audio outs for my Zeppelin Air, necessitating the use of the headphone port.
If anyone has any questions, please fire them in my general direction and I'll do my best to answer them.
PS. on the calibration front, I have spectrometer at my disposal (LaCie Blue Eye Pro) so is there software I can pair with it once the necessary running-in time has been surpassed?
you need to compare full model numbers not just one part of them
e.g.
50GT60B
42ST50B
50VT65B
65ZT65B
the first 2 digits represent screen size so from the above they would be 50", 42", 50" and 65" and in that order.
the next 2 digits represent the series within their range which goes from UT - ST - GT- VT - ZT, although UT was made EOL a few years back now and that is the order it follows, the ZT range is the best of the best.
the next 2 digits represent how new the panel is 65 being the newest panel, then 60, then 50 then 40, then 30, then 20, then 10.
OP went from a 42VT20B to a 50VT65B, he effectively went from a 42" to a 50", stayed within the VT range (second best) but got a much newer panel the 65B is the latest one and the 20B is what 3-5 years old now.
There's also a TX-P50VT50B but as I said, whats different between the TX-P50VT50B and TX-P50VT65B? So just a slightly different panel? I can't see any difference in specifications or calibration accuracy on review sites.
