You'll be able to get wifi somewhere, I went down to Newcastle last year, didn't think I'd get wifi at the hotel, I didn't but the nearby pubs all had free wifi. Hence why I don't really remember much about the trip.

The problem is using your laptop in a public house makes you look like an antisocial ******!
I may end up doing just this. When im home on the weekend expect another thread ill tell you how long it takes for paint discolouration from me breathing on it.
U don't get any free internet to start with though.. And as good as an idea this sounds is it legal/right to do this haha?
It is worth it yes but its a steep cost
Just give up and shoot yourself, seems the only option.
Real life.
at premier inn you can ask for a code at checkin and the cost gets added to the bill
Indeed. As much as I love being online. I quite enjoy unplugging and switching off when I can. It's such a nice feeling.
I wonder how we survived before the internet. In a way we were better off. It's pretty sad to hear that someone has to ask for advice for what to do for a mere 3hrs a night for a few weeks. :/
I would be ok if the internet died at home, Id revert to what i know.. Go see friends go cinema etc
But in a hotel miles away it isn't as simple
Well it is.
Don't you like music? Bring some with you to listen to.
Are there not any hobbies you're interested in that you could buy a book/magazine to investigate?
Go for a walk (do a bit of exercise!!)
I know you said you don't read - but really? This is a great pass time.
Bring some personal admin to do with you.
If you have to use a computer - bring some games, or learn a new skill on it, or bring some movies with you, catch up on a series etc...
If you have a car you could go and explore or just go for a drive.
It really isn't such a big deal is it? Come on, stop being so dramatic!
Work colleagues? Surely you can spend time with them? That's if there are some with you. Or meet people at the hotel, surely they'll be a few people possibly on there own?
It worries me that people are so reliant on the internet and don't know what else there is to do!
Drawing
Reading
TV Shows
Films
Writing
Exploring
Community activities, got to be something going on!
Do things with your new found hotel buddies.
As much as id love to learn a new skill i don't know were to start. web design/coding etc is something id want to learn but how can you learn without a web guide unless i bought some books and tried. I don't have a dvd drive for movies unfortunately hence the console and tv question![]()
I used to do exactly this and meet and get talking with random people at bar sometimes in my old job but as said i don't like drinking much anymore so the best socialising way is out the window. May try drawing though didn't really think of that oddly
That takes the ****, what a bunch of clowns. We get £25 on the hotel bill(can't claim alcohol, which is why we prefer small hotels), so if it can't be added to the hotel bill, then we can't do it. Premier inn the internet can't be added on to the hotel bill, so I have to pay it myself, £10 a week is worth it for my sanity. If op is in a premier inn. Just pay it. Its unlimited.
How is it a steep cost? Your willing to spend £20 on a sim card but not 30 on unlimited internet.
USB/external HDD for films/tv shows, that's what I used to do, or copy them onto the laptop prior to going. If they're legal films anyway.
You don't have to drink to meet people at a bar. Drawing is always a good pass time for me, it passes a lot of time, the more of a perfectionist you are, the longer it takes!
