The anti- fracking demonstration in Salford unfortunately attracted the wrath of a particularly vile police officer.

The IPCC has determined that the @gmpolice arrest of Steven Peers at an anti- fracking demonstration in Salford needs to be investigated.

The officer should be sacked for his conduct IMO. but what about you guys?

I'd lock the chap up that was filming it for being a complete tool. Just gotta look at his other videos, he is just there to cause a nuisance.

I've been in many crowds before and had a very good relationship with police officers, had good conversation & jokes. The people who cause the problems are fools like him and those other crackpots who try their luck.

Doesn't mean he deserves to be unlawfully arrest just for being a ****
The police policing of protests is always overly heavily handed, it's such an abuse just look at kettling

Can't be bothered to watch it, but I would imagine the policemen are being baited with cameras in their face by people who need a good wash and have a chip on their shoulder and the policeman over reacts?

Thank god someone was there to record it

If he simply kept with the crowd and followed instructions and wasn't being a nuisance none of this would have happened. He was actually being arrested for failing to provide a specimen of breath as the officers suspected him of drink driving. Granted there isn't enough evidence for it to stand up in court but surely that is up to the CPS to decide weather or not they prosecute.

It's much easier to be proactive from the beginning than going in softly softly it get out of hand and then having to react.

+1

I am just waiting for someone to be crushed by a truck, or crush their skull, for placing themselves into risk ie on top of a tanker without access.

The total absence of sense or sensibility makes me wince watching these protests. By all means protest but do not place yourself, your fellows, transport drivers or the police in danger in doing so.
