Away from home, No internet.. What do?

Is exactly right. God people are starting to get so attached to the internet that they can't function without it :o

Normally I'd agree for a week or a bit longer, but 3 weeks would really drag for me.

I'd load up on TV series now and just plough through them if you really can't get online.

That's why I love going on holiday, enforced time away from the internet. Never felt so good afterwards!

Don't get me wrong I'm guilty of enjoying the online world, but if I had a legitimate excuse to be away from it I would actually enjoy it.

When i was in texas afew years back for a month my internet use was very limited to one skype call a day with the girlfriend at the time. I didn't see a need it was hot, there was a pool etc.. But i suppose it isn't same here :( no pool no gym

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but where are you staying?

Maybe someone on here knows the area and can recommend something.

If it was me, I'd download a bunch of Shows/Films and order in a Dominos Pizza everyday.

This has to be one of the most depressing topics I've seen in a long time.

In short, you dont want to do anything, the world outside your 4 walls scares you and you cant live without internet access for 3 weeks! Kids these days really need to get a life

I know you said you "don't read" but surely this is a perfect time to start? On your own, no distractions... You're happy to watch a film but not to read a book?

Do you work away with work? Doing stuff is expensive and limited.
Internet really does save you when working away. Its pretty much stay in and watch TV/internet or go down the pub.

This, As much as i agree with peoples advice in places i would like to see them live without there luxuries in hotels with no one around for long periods of time. Hence why im getting a flat as its a long contract i aint staying in a hotel for a year :')

Yeah if ur trying to keep busy for 3 weeks, Cinema nightly or bowling or drinking i could soon rack up a hell of a bill. Last job i was on i spent an entire month in the bar after work and the bill exceeded 1500 (some grub included and i drink rum for anyone wondering how) i am only 20 and i try keep hold of me cash so as i said some nice alternatives which are of little cost are desired :)

my internet went down for 12 hours the other day and it was similar to a powercut in the 1980's... there was nothing to do
maybe put loads of tv series on your laptop?

Yeah, when I first started working away years ago, I was racking up ~£80 a night, it was fun, but not sustainable.
Now its go for a walk, have shower, go meet colleges for some food maybe one pint, then back to room and watch films/games.

Not sure how you're travelling, but big bang theory is also good for watching when travelling. Storyline is easy to follow, so train/plane announcements don't get in the way. 20 minute episodes mean a season is done in no time!

Yeah i did this at first but something got to me with my ex so the drink ended up hitting me bit more. My routine on work is a simple one, Get in.. Shower. Food and maybe one drink then the remainder of the evening is mine :)
