Hi all. New to the forum so would appreciate some help.

Looking to buy a used new shape 3 series BMW in the next few months from a BMW dealer. I think its called the F30 SEDAN.

Ideally looking at the 320i sport, manual, petrol version.

Currently they are around the £19.5k mark but was wondering how much I should be bidding/haggling for a car at this screen price. I assume the prices will come down a bit next month due to the new registrations.

Also will be looking for a straight cash deal with no finances/loans etc.

Any other advice around warranty and haggling for extras would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

There's been several threads about this recently, but essentially you need to be looking at the total cost to change, not just how much discount you can get off the new car.

They might give you a great trade-in on your old car and then be unable to give you any discount on the new car, which is why you have to look at the deal as a whole rather than concentrating on one aspect.

Thanks for the reply scratch. My son wants my current car so no part exchange involved. Just wanted a rough idea of where I should be pitching really as never bought a BMW before.

First things first - are you sure you want to spend that kind of money on a 320i? It will depreciate so fast and it won't be amazingly special. People that want the fast BMW's will buy a 328i/335i, people who want an economical BMW will buy the 320d. The 320i seems to appeal to a very very niche market and tbh, i've never got the point of them.

Thanks gaggle. To be honest I only do about 4000 miles a year and most of that is around town. Also I will probably be looking to keep the car for at least 7 or 8 years. Was considering a 316i sport but was concerned that it might not be powerful enough for the size of car.

I'm also thinking about getting a BMW Auc so any tips on getting a decent deal would be welcome!
