Best Silent Fans

Corsair SP120 quiet editions are pretty good. I have three of them in may 650D case & you can't hear them.
They don't move huge amounts of air, I think it's about 35cfm, but I did run one on my 4770K @ 4.5ghz, & it kept temps down to low 70c's at load.

I believe Noctua NF-F12 are the best for heatsinks as they generate huge static pressure (2,61 mm H2O) to overcome the resistance. Not silent though but pretty quiet, just make sure you get some with high static pressure for cooling a heatsink or rad, and high airflow for case fans.

When will Noctua start making their fans either in multiple colour schemes, or just plain old black? Surely that's not going to sacrifice enough identity to overcome the sales? They seem to come out top in loads of different tests, but no one ever wants to use them/recommend them because they fit with almost zero colour schemes.

Opportunity to be had for sure.

I doubt the Corsair fans would be classed at silent since they spin at 1450rpm have found you need to go around 800rpm~ for most fans.

If you're that anal about it, sure :)
In my experience, they're quiet enough to go in the 'silent' category.

Then again, just being able to hear a fan is too much for some people.

Noctua NF-F12s are excellent but they're not cheap. be quiet silent wings are also excellent but also very expensive. Both of them are worth every penny.
