Hello. Any recommendations for a new motherboard for an I7 2600k? Obviously needs to be able to overclock. I'm out of the loop for intel. I think it's compatible with z77. X-fire support would be nice but not essential. Also after 8gb ram. The teamgroup orange has caught my eye.
Suggestions please.

Have a look around for a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H or Asus P8Z77-V.

Ram-wise, pretty much any DDR3 1600 (or higher if you must) will do the trick. The Teamgroup stuff would be fine.

^ You won't see a noticeable difference between like 1600Mhz RAM and 2400Mhz RAM - the only place you see a major difference is with AMD APU's where the APU graphics cores use the RAM for graphics VRAM - 1600 is just fine :D

Seen the teamgroup ram 1600mhz oc to 2133mhz,and the 2400mhz kits are same price so might aswell grab that

It does help, would you notice? Idk

No real budget, just want bang for buck. The asus z77 lx looks decent. Not much choice at ocuk but I suppose it's end of life so not surprised.

I had an LX before I switched to the V when I went xfire.
It's a good board, but it's still a bit limited if you want to run xfire as it's x16/x4 like the Gigabyte you linked earlier.

I would say go with Asus though. Fan Xpert software is a deal breaker imo.
