He might be comparing it to that But thats not where Nvidia placed it.
Card prices often change as market changes and cards get older and due to sales
Thats why even in your own Example the 660 was £155.99 inc VAT and atm its on sale at £129.95 inc VAT

MSI Radeon R7 260X OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £109.99 inc VAT
The 750ti is £113.99 inc VAT I'd hardly call that the same price bracket tbh
i dont see long threads with graph spam stating how the gtx 260x is a terrible card and why people shouldn't buy it despite it being around a 750ti price.
Would I personally shop around grab a deal for a faster card yes
Would i expect a deal on a brand new card No
Early adopters often end up paying a price premium but this time round the premium is at the lower end not the high end
As i said at the start it is a nice card and gives a good gain over what its replacing for less power
Sorry for the long post i recommend both AMD and Nvidia and run both in my own and familys machines. Its just annoying how certain people on both sides often seem to try and push a agenda against certain vendors when a card is mentioned or released
I think most of these arguments come down to Gpu's not moving along fast like they used to. As Cat said he got his gtx660 a year ago for not much more than the price of the gtx750ti. We used to get year on year the tier below matching or beating the tier above. All the 750ti brings to the table is less performance than the tier above with lower power and not far off in price.
What the gtx750ti is is good engineering but not very exciting from a gamers point of view. If it scales up nicely to the high end then Nvidia may be on to a winner but we are comparing Nvidia's latest to AMD/Nvidia's old tech so for me it's a waiting game to see the actual outcome. Nvidia's power usage this Gen was pretty nice as well if i am being honest. Gtx780/titan/ti were all using less power compared to what i expected.
