You get 200GB free with Surfaces, so there are probably a few people out there knocking on for nearly half a terabyte of gratis storage now which is not too shabby at all.

Any perverted NSA agent must be foaming at the mouth right now and Microsoft is fully NSA compliant. Somehow I'd feel uneasy sending my entire family photo archive right to the desk of a potentially paedophilic NSA agent, so I'll be the winner and fill it with unimportant and pointless junk.

Microsoft much like Google and Dropbox only hand over users data to government agencies if legally ordered to by a court. Tinfoil hat much?

Obtaining a court order is like obtaining copier paper if it's your sister organisation that's dishing them out. NSA and DoJ are like brother and sister.

Also, many, if not most IXPs are already under NSA control and are being mass tapped with raw packets being forwarded and stored in their brand new state of the art DC in Utah. Many static routes have also been set up so that traffic bound direct for countries like Pakistan is autonomously routed through a compromised IXP.

Also, I'm not talking about "Users data". I'm talking about internet communication interception and backdoors directly into the hosted servers.

Also, you've gotten the order of operation mixed up: they don't randomly target a user then ask a judge to get Microsoft to get their details. They look at your pictures first, and then go to a Judge to get MS to hand out their details.
